This Thursday night (that would be Thursday, December 6), they’re gonna light the Washington Monument in Mount Vernon Square in downtown Baltimore.
We all know that the best view is from the Thirteenth Floor Lounge high atop the beautiful Belvedere Hotel. It’s loads of fun! Me and the monument are gonna get lit together, along with a couple of my girlfriends.
Would any Baltimore area Dopers like to come too? I honestly don’t know how many of you are close enough to take the trouble to come downtown, but I’m going, because this is just way too fun to miss!
We’re planning to get there by 5:30 PM. What follows is what I got from the Baltimore events website:
A Monumental Occasion: The Annual Lighting of the Washington Monument
6 p.m.
Tour art studios, restaurants and bars with tasty snacks at each stop. (The art studios and restaurants thingie is what goes on in the street below… it’s a “First Thursday” thing. My preference is to sit inside the hotel and get toasted, but check out the outdoor fun if you want; it’s great!)
Anyhow, if you can make it, it’s a great time!
