"band name!" ...worth a page on the TMHP?

Everyone is always saying “Band name!” about certain phrases, and quite often they are hilarious…

For example, I think that “AssHat” would make an excellent band name.

I have various collections of stuff on the TMHP ( http://www.teemingmillions.com ) such as the Page O Flames, Classic Posts, etc…

It would be a simple matter of 10 minutes’ work to create a page for “Band Names” that derive from posts on the board… it would be form driven, meaning that you find a good band name, you go to the TMHP and post it and poof, it appears.

So should I? Or is it a lame idea?

I was thinking something like a two column thing, where the left column is the band name, and the right column is the relevant post / snip from post for context and giving credit to the poster.

So what say you?

Well, jarbabyj tried something similar in The Master Band List thread. 83 replies, last reply a little over 2 months ago. It could work, I guess.

I just reviewed the other band name post and am cracking up. Based on that, I’m sure there’s plenty of opportunity for your site!

[hijack] My band really has a name swiped off a recent Cecil column - Absinthe.

I like a lot of these ones better…

[sub]disclaimer - I live in a city where it is required by law that anyone who is capable of playing any instrument (or not) must be in a band, no matter how lousy.

BY all means…And the Jarbaby Master Band name list would be an excellent starting point. We could maybe get Spoofe to contribute sketches of what the bands might look like… up for it Spoofster? Your work would contribute greatly to this…

Some friends and I have about a 60 page document of Band Names from an email chain that started back in march. I don’t have the upated list.

Some are hilarious, some are crude, some are offensive.
