Banned Scrabble words

Here’s what I worked out with this anagram generator:

aabeiorrstu = abortuaries
aaborrtuy = abortuary
cmmopsy = comsymp
cmmopssy = comsymps
aefiimnz = feminazi
aefiimnsz = feminazis
bbeilr = libber
bbeilrs = libbers
aaehmrstu = shamateur
aaehmrsstu = shamateurs

Owwwww! My freaking ears! Fiddle-de-deeee!

No more television for you, Roddy.

Bubby is a variant of booby, as in “breast.” Booby itself is not banned, presumably because it has non-offensive uses, namely the bird. However, as you note, bubby also has non-offensive uses, namely as a variant of bubbe (“grandmother”). I don’t know whether the Scrabble people recognize that meaning.

I didn’t solve them all, but the anatomical terms include arse arsehole arseholes asshole assholes badass badasses badassed ballocks ballsier ballsiest ballsiness ballsinesses ballsy bazoom bazooms bollocks boobie boobies bubby clit clits cojones cunt cunts dicked dickhead dickheads dicking jiveass loogie loogies loogy hardass hardasses johnson johnsons numbnuts numbnutses pisshole pissholes schlong schlongs shlong shlongs stiffie stiffies stiffy twat twats wazoo wazoos willie.

bdooy might be boody
egiilrs might be girlies

I still did not get:

abbellrstu and its plural
acdeeehkpr and its plural
agooz and its plural
agginnyy and its plural

Is “Foghat” on the list? That band’s name came from a prank in a Scrabble game.

Found three more in anatomical: ballbuster(s), peckerhead(s), yingyang(s)

Possibly gazoo(s)?

Peckerhead, I think.

I think of it in the plural, doobies

But dooby isn’t an anatomical term. Also, the unscrambled words in each category are in alphabetical order. The entries bdeioos and bdooy come between the scrambled entries for boobie and bubby, so they have to start with B. I’m thinking boodies and boody. But I’ve never seen those spellings before. Booty, of course, has non-offensive uses (as in “the pirate’s booty”) so it wasn’t banned.

“Bubba” and “Ginger” can be first names. Maybe that’s why they’re banned.

Sorry, I should have looked back at the original classifications. Boody, not booty? That isn’t a spelling I have seen, but maybe.

Looking back at the list, some of these I haven’t heard commonly used. One that I saw—oba I guess refers to abo, short presumably for “Aboriginal,” would be more a UK/Aus issue that doesn’t impact the US. Like that, many of the terms seem foreign to me.

I noticed too that cips was flagged, but there’s Spic N Span here.

Seems like a slippery slope. @RivkahChaya is Bubba really a given name? Ginger is also a root used in cooking.

Ginger is not what they’re banning with that combination of letters.

I suck at anagrams.

Yes they can be rearranged.

It seems they could spoiler the correct spellings for those whose sensibilities would be offended. Looking back at the list, some of these I haven’t heard commonly used. Seems too that the f***** word wasn’t struck because it’s a bundle of wood, but related terms may have been.

I still did not get:

abbellrstu and its plural
(already solved)
agooz and its plural
agginnyy and its plural[/quote]

“Ballbuster/s”.
“Gazoo/s”, which I found defined as “the buttocks, the anus”.
“Yingyang/s”, more commonly hyphenated “ying-yang/s”, used similarly to “wazoo” as a naughty word for “anus”.

This really feels more like an Onion article than a real list. I mean, sure, a few words like, erm, “ginger” I get. But some of these words are fairly inoffensive, AFAIK, and don’t seem to target anyone based on gender or ethnicity. We all have ears, I mean, we all have an arse.

(Damned autocorrect changed “arse” to “arsenal.” It’ll be a sad day when we all have one of those.)

Slurs (national origin) include boche(s) bogtrotter(s) bohunk(s) chola(s) cholo(s) dago dagos dagoes ginzo(es) kanaka(s) kike(s) mick(s) pepsi(s) polack(s) pommie pommy pommies raghead(s) spic(s) spick(s) spik(s) wetback(s).

Ginzo (a person from Guinea) and Pepsi (a French Canadian) are new ones to me.

I still haven’t deciphered densuv (based on its position in the list, it must begin with U or V) or ccehilu (must begin with C).

Words that CAN be proper names are allowed if they also mean something when not capitalized. Otherwise you couldn’t use JACK, MARK, RAY, or WILL, among many others. Mercury is a planet, but it’s also an element, so it’s acceptable. China is a country, but it’s also porcelain dinnerware, so no problem there.`

I’ll never see The Flinstones the same way again.
