I retract any previous scorn for you BS. You are a genius, a sharp minded astute observer of the obvious, yes an artist in brilliant and enlightened simplicity. The more you post the less you say. Goddamn it BS will you for fucking once not sneeze out the first thing at the top of your head in response to the world around you. I dared you to define Europe and European. You should have smelled the foul trick I played on you, but oblivious to previous friendly advice and true to your past you just shot your mouth off. A dictionary alone won’t help you. An encyclopedia might, would you know the difference?
I’ll help you;
Europe is a indeed a continent, but Europe is also so much more. For instace if you thereby mean the European Union it is a proto-nation comprised of 15 national states set to grow to 28 or so in the next 10 years. It is three or four (depending on how you count) free markets. Its 44-47 nations again depending on how you count… I could go on, but enough. European is even better. Obviously anyone from the forenamed place(s) would be called European. It’s also a sloppy ethnic term. It is a rough grouping that describes some vaguely comparable cultural traits (America belongs to that one by some definitions). It is not a very good way of describing anyone’s cultural or ethnic background given that the place and concept is so vast and heterogeneous that it screams of uninformed generalization to do so. There are common traits, go ahead and use them, but know them first. You obviously do not know them. For instance there is no such thing as ‘a typical European left wing […] bigot’ (thank me, I edited your quote so that at least it makes semantic sense). If you wouldn’t have choked on the political dichotomy you inserted, that would have been an almost on par insult. However, I fear that you didn’t use it that way. Your repeatedly use European as if it was some kind of meaningful descriptive in political, ethnic and cultural terms. It doesn’t make you look very tolerant and informed. Maybe I should go ahead and call you a typical uninformed American reactionary political asshole, but I won’t ‘cause a) that would be an insult to all the other reactionary political assholes in America and b) the sentence doesn’t make any sense.
I’ll sum it up for you: henceforth young BS pending days when you have achieved greater understanding, I might advice that you try to avoid using the terms ‘typical’, ‘in general’ or ‘overall’ in connection with words that describe things that cannot be generalized in a meaningful way such as a varied population of 490 million people over 47 nations from hundreds, maybe thousands of discrete cultural backgrounds.
I’ll put it even clearer: don’t ever call me European again, until you understand what it means you generalizing, judgmental, preclusive, cultural warthog.
All that being said I find that you’re taking this in a rather stand-up way. However irritating and uniformed your posts are, I sense that there is a will in you to expand your intellectual and cultural horizon. These are good things. So stick around and go on questioning things, just cut down on the sophomoric BS. (Sorry about the pun, but I just had to do that :D)
But the European Union is the most recongizeable aspect (or one of them) of Europe. France, Italy, etc. The most well-known countries. When you say “European”, who thinks of, say, Belarus?
Anyway…
Barking Spider, I note that one of the criticisms leveled before you is not necessarily related to any sort of bigotry or racism, but the simple fact that you can’t maintain a cogent point in a debate. Take note of the aforementioned example of you having been proven wrong about Le Pen’s anti-semitism… rather than retract the point, you bring in a completely unrelated point.
In other words, in a debate about whether or not Le Pen was an anti-semite, you suddenly shifted gears into free expression of ideas.
Do you not see the debating faux pas you’ve made there? It’s called a “red herring”, a debating fallacy that calls for a person to disrupt a debate by bringing in unrelated - although true - material. While your red herring may have been true, nobody has contended that it wasn’t… and in the meantime, the original point of contention has been left unanswered.
Thank you SPOOFE. Further, well put regarding the red herring.
I would add to you BS that you would have been let off a lot easier for your red herring, had you not been so flippant in remarks about my origins and had your posts not been so damned controversial and ill founded, the little fishy then would have given rise to irritation and consternation, but not scathing rebuke. The combination of the three set me off like a powder keg dropped into a furnace. I look forward to your new thread and please think before you post this time!
BS You’re not stirring up the pots, you’re knocking them over…
Sheesh! I just realized that this jackass just made me waste post C on rebuke. Fucking spoilsport!!!

Hell!!!
I don’t know why my browser double posts like that! I know I didn’t press submit twice! The post count even tallies like I only posted once.
FUCK!
In another thread, the subject of the thread made this statement.
**You’re probably right. Between the liberals and the Mexican Invasion, the White middle class is screwed. Now wonder the White middle class is leaving Cali in droves. **
** Barking Spider **, maybe saying the “Mexican Invasion” sounds catchy or cute to you, but to a lot of people these broadsides are just hateful, bigoted, and repugnant. Yes- a lot of immigrants come from Mexico and other countries, and a thoughtful person may believe that more immigrants come than are really needed. Some may even argue that immigration to the United States should be greatly curtailed. There are intelligent ways of saying those viewpoints without offending any reasonable person.
Do you sincerly believe Mexican immigrants are part of some organised, cohesive invasion plan to disenfranchise or displace the “White middle class”? Such a statement indicates you feel that way - which is just paranoid. Your pattern of making blanket statements made about any group of people, be they Mexicans, Europeans, or whomever, with no regard for fact or reason - not to mention other people’s feelings -will NOT win you any friends on this board.
Being that there are several million illegal aliens in California alone, I think that counts as an Invasion. And being that most of those illegals are from Mexico, I think I’m totally justified in calling it the Mexican Invasion. If most illegals in the state were from Burundi, I would call it the Burundi Invasion.
Also, if you don’t think that many Mexicans want to claim the US Southwest as their own, maybe you should check out the Aztlan websites.
BTW, why do you refer to illegal aliens as “immigrants”? They are not immigrants. They are criminals sneaking into my country.
Yes, and Ariel Sharon masterminded the World Trade Center attack, KFC has headless chicken labs, all slave traders operating from Africa were Jews, and the HIV virus is God’s punishment for homosexuals. The internet is a wonderful source of info.
A ninth grader would know better than to refer to an anonymous, unedited, amateur website for any factual information.
Many Mexicans and Hispanics do feel some sense of attachment and belonging to the American Southwest. Why do you think nearly every major city in the area has a Spanish name? Why do you think every third house is stucco and tile? And where did all those enchilada recipes come from? Ever go to New Mexico? Half the time the white* folks there out-Mexican most Mexicans.
I am sure you will see that statement as evidence of the pervasiveness of the Mexican Invasion…but no one else here seems to share your panic.
*I am a white Mexican (we do exist, and furthermore it’s a struggle to find someone in the Mexican Government who is not of visible European descent). No one in the Mexican Establishment gives a crap about ‘Aztlan’. And according to your logic, I have stolen my own job and invaded myself. No wonder I can’t sleep!
