Baseball - How's your team doing?

For Jim.

Thanks, I read it yesterday, some good analysis, which I of course will choose to ignore as it overlooks the month plus of poor pitching and/or hitting by the Tigers and the stunning failure not to be swept by the Royals with the Division riding on it.

Jim

Spotty pitching. Poor hitting, especially with runners in scoring position.

The Royals…who knew?

It’s the fifth inning.

Mulligan?

But it isn’t even the 5th yet. Plenty of time to score…

Well plenty of time for the Yankees especially with the MVP being 3 for 3.

Jim

The run support was to be expected for the Tigers…actually higher. That’s nto bad. The Yankees had that 3rd inning. That obviously killed it.

You guys have gotta stop that.
Robertson was supposed to chew up innings. Meh, there’s the next game.
Damn you, Yankees. I’m starting the collection to make you guys go victory-less for the rest of my life. Embargo on!

Filthy cocksuckers. Haven’t got a phone call from my old roomie from the Bronx…yet.

Didn’t know that Verlander was batting for the Yankees.

oh…that’s NEXT year’s MVP…

Make that 5 for 5.

Holy F’ing shit, Jeter was 5 for 5 with 2 double and a Homer.
Bobby Abreu got 4 RBIs, welcome to October in the Bronx.
I had a near heart attack when Torre yanked Wang, his sinker was perfect at that point. Then Myers gives up an immediate Homer.

Great first game.

Jim

Top of the order played great for both teams. Of course Jeter and Abreu were the main culprits. It was a good game. Let’s see how the next ones go. They could be much fun.

Game 3 should be fun, the only match-up where both pitchers are as old or older than me, each with their own heavy baggage.

The Rodger’s Parking lot incident sounds like the fan is 90% at fault. Hopefully Kenny gets no grief over it.

Tonight is a good match, Detroit’s hitters will have a tough time vs. Moose and the Yankees know almost nothing about Verlander who is very good. This could be the pitchers dual and a short game.

Jim

It was a great game, Jim. A co-worker has tickets for tonight, but $250@ is steep for me. (that and getting home to 4 hours of sleep before work the next day would be brutal)

tonight could be dicey - Maine, a rookie, is going up one of LA’s best. I’m worried

My Third Deck tickets to game 5 were $71 with the fees. Hopefully I will not get a chance to use them and we will wrap this up in 3 or 4 games. $250 is too much for a Division series. My World Series Ticket is less than that and on the Main Level. Your friend is paying a high premium.

Jim

What the hell were the Dodgers thinking?

Second inning, no outs, and runners on first and second.

Batter rips one to the wall in right field, and not one, but both (!) runners get thrown out at home on the same play.

Yeah, that was stupid. Went for the knockout early and it bit them.

I have no TV access, but I’m listening to Vin wax poetic about how that reminds him of the Brooklyn Dodgers. I’m having a lot of trouble envisioning exactly how such a thing happened.

Oh well, hopefully the players will quickly forget it and focus on scoring more.

I have to know, your manager is Grady Little, what do Dodger fans think of him?

I was worried for a moment, but we’ve pulled ahead again

I like him. Level-headed, doesn’t burn out pitchers, seems to have a handle on the LA style of baseball. What’s not to like?
