Baseball Trip Music recommendations

I’ve done this thread before. Every year (except 2020 :slightly_frowning_face:) I go on a road trip with my buddy to see baseball games. And every year I put together a playlist of appropriate music to listen to in the car.

This year it’s the independent Northwoods League. We’ll be starting in Bismarck, ND, then heading to the Minnesota towns of Willmar, St. Cloud, and Mankato, and finishing up in Waterloo, IA.

I’m looking for songs that are geographically relevant, as well as songs about baseball, drinking, and being on the road. This year I’m also adding songs about being “back” since we missed last years trip (e.g. “The Boys Are Back In Town”).

Any suggestions?

Minnesota? You need something from A Prairie Home Companion.

“Need” is perhaps overstated a bit.
That was pretty cool though.

Wild Thing!

Obviously this one. And if you say you never heard of it, you’re no baseball fan.

“I’m back” songs: “Back in the Saddle” by Aerosmith; “Back in Black”, AC/DC; “Back in the Game” by Airbourne. For a road song AND a Minnesota song all in one you could go with “The Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota” by Weird Al even if you don’t actually visit it, I guess.

That is a great baseball song. This one is better:

This will be (I think) the 22nd of these I’ve put together. Used to burn CDs back before iTunes playlists. So it isn’t surprising that Centerfield and A Dying Cub Fan’s Last Request were burned off years ago.
Though I’ve relaxed my self-imposed no-repeat rule in recent years just because it gets harder and harder to come up with new ideas.

So thanks for the help. Keep ‘em coming!

The Ataris Boys Of Summer cover is great:

And of course:

Nevermind.
