Just started playing this. I didn’t want to put this in the mega thread about the game but I was wondering, in RPGs I like to play a “good” character. Is that possible to do in this game? I know Cyberpunk tends to be dark and cynical so I get there will be a lot of grey but I don’t want to be a prick. No spoilers necessary; I am just wondering if that is feasible. I am playing as a Corporate Rat in case that matters. I had a crappy PC for long time so it in fun to jump back into AAA RPGs again. Thanks.
Yes, you have plenty of opportunities to take the high road.
Pretty much, I’d say. You can usually make “good” choices though sometimes the end result isn’t great (much like The Witcher) and most of your quest targets are bad people anyway.
More importantly, you’re given plenty of chances to form friendships and relationships and act like a loyal/caring person to the main NPCs
I’ve been playing this lately, and every now and then I get into an “I’m going to clean up these streets!” mood and just go around killing gang members and lowlifes.
There was also one side mission in which the NPCs tried the old, “If I didn’t profit off of the evil out there, someone else would!” line. I killed the shit out of them after that.

Also note that it’s relatively easy to mod your gun to do “nonlethal” attacks (that look basically identical to lethal attacks and that sometimes are actually lethal, in my experience). Also, hacking attacks are supposedly nonlethal, even if they cause someone to burst into flames from the inside.

It was just seeing what kind of Boss I had and my first mission made me wonder what road I was going down.
Without spoiling too much, the first three or so hours of the game is basically a setup for the rest of the game where it opens up considerably in the decision-making department.
I used to enjoy jumping in and helping the police when they were in a shootout with criminals.
I like to think my version of V did a lot more good than harm in his Night City career.
Well then, good news! Just about everyone is corrupt or involved in a gang or evil corporation, so blast away. There are very few side missions where you’re killing or stealing from “innocent” civilians.
