I am so jealous
There’s a guy on TV right now with a mental disability which causes him to be euphoric all the time, to love everything, dust, poo, sky, water, telephones, EVERYTHING.
He’s crying while interviewed because he’s so happy.
Bastard!

yeah, the rest of us have to PAY…
Better living through chemistry…
Reminds me of the Friends episode where Phoebe is dating this guy (Alec Baldwin), who waxes poetic over every mundane thing until she just loses it. And then he’s so ecstatic that they’re arguing!
That he is crying because he is so happy about being interviewed- that sounds so sweet!
And it also sounds interesting - what mental disorder is it? What show is it on? Do they mention any negative affects? (Oh! Thank you for mugging ME! Thank you! How much fun! Do you want my watch, or just my wallet! My PIN number? My wedding ring? Thank you! Thank you! That was great!)
happily,

[Phoebe]You are like Santa Claus on Prozac. In Disneyland. Getting laid![/Phoebe]
I didn’t pay enough attention to the show. I kind of switched on to it (mentally) when the item about the happy guy came on)
I thought the same kinda things as you. If this guy is happy no matter what then he doesn’t need to maintain any kind of life to sustain happiness. He might end up a happy bum. But then what would that matter, as long as he’s happy!
I’d rather be an extatic bum than a depressed rich man.
Heh!
OTOH, he could live in a closet, and it would be paradise! Who needs more than food, warmth, and shelter from the elements, when every moment is a living joy?
Ladies and gentlement, we’ve found the perfect monk…
I want to be him! How did he get this illness? I want this one.
This could be EUPHORIC-INDIFFERENCE REACTION: in which the patient is inappropriately cheerful, prone to laughter, and displays a lack of awareness regarding their disabilities.
It is most often caused by damage to the right hemisphere of the brain.
I’ll pass on this one.
I think J.S. Mill had something to say about this guy, but in the interest of sensitivity I’ll refrain from quoting it because it’s kind of harsh.
