We’re still over a month away from needing of the first mowing. Most of the non-procrastinators haven’t even thought about taking their mower in yet. I can’t imagine what the backlog for the procrastinators is, 2023???
Hah, he’s hoping to get called up to Zamboni driver, which is what the sub goalie was before getting his call up. Seriously!
Junior nodding? Isn’t that why Roxstar gets a nap every day?
It’s up 22° since this moaning. Off to do something productive, I mean besides starting the new page.
It’s a sun shiny 39 degrees outside, supposed to get up close to 60 today
Much nicer than the 21 feels like 18 when I was at the park
It would be nice to go later when it is warmer, but then it gets crowded and I like the morning group
I got there early today and so we had the park for ourselves for a bit. I enjoy it when other people are there, but it’s kind of nice to be there alone for a while too.
The sun was shining, the birds were singing, a layer of frost on the ground… quiet and pretty.
Up, caffeinating, the last load of clothes in the wash and fixing to do KP (that will involve awakening a little dog sleeping on my lap). Not a whole lot planned for today. I need to return to Tar-jay to exchange two tubes of shampoo for conditioner that I got wrong yesterday and, given the weather, a trip to the dog park is likely.
Pause in terlet installation - the bolts holding the old one to the floor were corroded, so **FCD **had to cut them off. Now he and SIL are at the hardware store getting 2 new bolts and a new supply line (I told him so! ) In the meantime, I scrubbed the floor that was under the terlet, plus de-furred the wall behind it. Dang cat hair gets EVERYWHERE!!!
Once they get back, it should go fairly quickly. I hope.
Meanwhile, second load in the washer, first in the dryer. And I found 22¢ in the washer - cha-ching!!
**flyboy **- go for it! It’ll be Moanday on the east coast when it’s 9 in your neighborhood, so technically…
We have achieved terlet! I’ve cleaned up after the workers and my second (and last) load of laundry is in the dryer. It’s been a good morning.
Ziva snuck into our room and is hiding under my side of the bed. Gotta be ready when she comes out to eat or pee. That’ll pretty much be the last chore of the day!

“NOLA Conterdre: a Confessional MMP”
And if Alex Catt doesn’t stop licking Gordie’s foot, she’s gonna need Last Rites.
I just noticed that the board thinks I only have 382x posts.
Seriously?
Okay, I went away for a couple/three years, but I’ve been here almost as long as Swampy and Mom.
le sigh
As far as thread titles go, as long as the mods don’t ban us, we should just ignore the complainers.
I’m fairly certain it is not. A clone? Evil twin? (Feel better Spidey)
May we have some of this so-called “rain” please?
Some day I’m going to have a dog and a cat that allow this tomfoolery and maybe even nap together. Unless the whole internet is lying, this happens. It has just never happened with any of my animals. :(
I’m not sure what today will bring chez moi. I suspect it will be a recovery-from-the-week day, not a productive-in-any-way day.
I forgot to mention that Akiko and Yoshi went into the vet on Friday. Yoshi weighs close to half as much as she does. She is a little light for her height and build, but that’s just how she’s always been. I think he’s heading for the 100lbs+ that are common for the breed. They both got clean bills of health and lots of admiration: Akiko is gorgeous (yes, it’s true) and Yoshi is “so fluffy we could die”.
I’m going to have to stop using Firefox to read the Board. It puts in soooo many formatting errors that I’m giving up.
Happy Sunday everyone!
Back to irk in the morning, after a week off. Getting pre-blurf in preparation for the early start. Always the problem with time off… it ends. At least for us non-retired people.
Mrs. L.A. threw away the cardboard insert to the scratching box last year, because the cats were getting cardboard bits all over the carpet. I tried to make a new insert, but cut the board too big and it wouldn’t fit. Just now, I finally got around to making a new insert. I cut a piece of scrap plywood to size, and wrapped it in ⅜" sisal rope. Fifty feet of rope isn’t enough, so I had to use part of another coil. Unfortunately, I slipped with the X-Acto knife and sliced the end knuckle of my left middle finger. I finished without getting blood on it, though there’s a drop on the ottoman on the catio, some on the patio table, and some on my sweat pants. Oh, and some on the plastic bag I put the unused rope back into. Anyway, the new insert is in the box, and the box is in the house.
I bought a new scratching post when I was getting cat food and cat litter yesterday. Neither cat has used it.
What else…? Oh, I made Vieux Carrés last night. I had five of them over the course of two or three hours, and I think Mrs. L.A. had the same. Very tasty, even though we didn’t have the cherries I thought we had in the fridge. My boss gave me a Trader Joe’s gift card for Christmas, and I used that for the Bulleit rye. We had a data contest a couple/three years ago, and she won a $100 and a $50 gift card. She gave me the $50 one, since I did the programming and loading. I used that for the Courvoisier, DOM Benedictine liqueur, Martini & Rossi sweet vermouth, Peychaud bitters, and a jalapeño meat stick. We already had the Angostura bitters. So the whole thing only cost me $46 of my own money.
Happy Sunday, boys and girls (and others)! I was awakened at 6:30 a.m. by rain pounding so hard, it sounded like the kind of hail that breaks windows. The weird thing (for here, in my short experience) was that it kept switching abruptly from the west to the north windows and back again. Quite the show for a little while.
Since the post about thread titles here was in the ATMB, I don’t think it counts as junior modding. I’m puzzled as to why thread titles here would bother anyone. I can understand why vague thread titles would be an issue in GD or GQ, but there are different circumstances down her in Mumperland.
I’ve started this post three times. The phone keeps ringing. In the interim, the sun came out. Then it retreated. More wind and rain. Then sun shoved rain out and tussled with wind for a while. The sun won.
Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, then helped move stuff into the Sacristy in preparation for Lent (no candelabra, Paschal Candle durin’ Lent. Change the brass holders to wooden ones for the Altar candles. Ceramic vessels for Communion. Wooden alms basins instead of brass. Plain instead of gold cover on the Gospel. Remove all the banners. In other words, no shiny, sparkly or festive stuff durin’ Lent.), and then went to Krystal to get gut bombs which we brought back to da cave to eat. Nappage also ensued. Thus has been Sunday down here. Now we await rain.
Supper has been ingested - we didn’t have lunch so we were stahvink! Before that, I finished knitting a scarf to use up some weird yarn - it made for a nice scarf.
Daughter and SIL went to his niece’s b-day party, and they’ll bring Roxy home after. Thus endeth the weekend.
 I deeply resent that…*I thought *I was the evil twin. :o
What a shitty thing to ask.
What a sec! Your TJ’s sells booze? WTF? I’ve yet to find one in a handful of eastern states that even sells Two/three/five buck Chuck. NY & CT sell beer but I’ve never seen wine in one, let alone hard alkeyhaul.
Mediocre food but some fun games; though probably a lot more fun if you have someone to play against. Some games need two people (air hockey) some games are better with two (or more people) to gang up on the aliens/bad guys who are out to get you, & some games are just more fun if you know who you’re racing against instead of just a random computer operated car/truck/motorcycle.
