Bathroom scales are worthless in the MMP

Good mornin’ troops!

Today I am going to do the things that didn’t get done yesterday.

Score the animal feed, Get Mickey out of the hospital. Return the blue tooth speaker that doesn’t wanna talk. And soak the thumb in rum. Go to the ATM for some fun tickets.

Maybe go to the cantina and drown the thumb in beer.

A friend is coming over for pancakes with blueberries and mango. And coffee.

Hope Thursday is good for you folks.

 Yet further north, we’ve had none in Feb & < ⅓" this winter. LT forecast looks like 0" for Feb; hoping for one of those track-up-the-coast March dumpers but I doubt it’ll happen. :frowning:

Ahem. ::raises hand::

I’ve found rum soaked liver is much more enjoyable.
Shower wasn’t draining properly when water was coming out of the tub faucet (like when it’s warming up); got the Zip-it* out. Problem solved; think there was a dead cat in the drain.

  • Why is it half of all google searches end up with a large S American river as the first result? The first two were for them & then the next three were for drug stores. What I was looking for was the manufacturer’s page. Shouldn’t that be the first hit??? Bezos ain’t makin’ his billions from me.

swampy, no axe murders were committed last evening. :stuck_out_tongue: I enjoyed meeting metal mouse and the concert was fantastic.

Moooooom, given the choice, I wouldn’t have carpet at all. I would much rather deal with a steam mop and/or a mop bucket and a dust mop than a full sized vacuum cleaner.

The concert last evening was awesome. I’d forgotten how great their finales were, not to mention the guests, many of whom are local, bring to the show (I last saw the Chieftains in Fort Wayne. The local pool of musical talent in the Nashville area is much greater). I took today off because I don’t bounce back from a semi-late night and go to irk like I used to. :stuck_out_tongue: If wet stuff stops falling from the sky, I’ll take Nelson to the dog park in a bit.

I mentioned Tonka threw up his gooshy food Sunday and Monday afternoons. We didn’t give either cat gooshy food Tuesday. We gave them half-rations last night. I thought Tonka was going to me OK, but after a slightly longer interval he threw up. The vet has been closed this week, so this morning will be the first time I can call her. (I have to wait until 08:30, though.) I hope I can get Tonka in to get checked out (and Goo in for her vaccination). Tonka is about 17 now, and I noticed around June or July that he seemed to be slowing down. He hasn’t been grooming himself since he’s been confined to the house and catio. He was almost 15 pounds when we adopted him from the shelter in 2013 (3 March). He’s losing weight. I happed to see him urinate in the litter box yesterday, and it sounded like a normal discharge. I didn’t see any blood. I think (Hope! Pray!) his kidneys are functioning. He doesn’t appear to be in any distress. I have a hunch (dread) he has cancer. We’ll know when we can get him into the vet.

The shelter where we got him asks for non-fish cat food, saying that fish paté can cause stomach upset. Mrs. L.A. will feed the cats this afternoon (I’m in Seattle today), and she’ll give them one of the non-fish ones. I really hope Tonka can keep it down. I gave him a little piece of roast beef from my sandwich yesterday, and several bits of non-spicy chicharrones. He loved them. (He’s always begging for human food) And he didn’t throw up.

Morning all. I’m back in (rainy…very rainy) North Ali-bama after a short trip to Nashville, where I met Red and took in The Chieftains concert. Red, if you haven’t guessed, is a sweet, nice person who unfortunately shares my ability for ‘oops’ moments; the restaurant she picked (because of my known predilection for Cheeseburgers) was the only one of their places with no sit-down seating. So we found another place down the road that turned out to be 5-6 small eating places in one and was quite nice, and then took in the concert (which was wonderful but also sad, in that only Paddy Moloney is the only ‘original’ Chieftain and just two others (who joined in the 1970’s) are long time members. But they had a lot of help, including a lady astronaut who had collaborated with them while she was serving on the Space Station. Red and I finally got back to her car (we had left it in a lot) around 10:30 and parted, then I took advantage of having a ‘free night’ from hotels.com and stayed the evening then drove back (in the rain) this morning, just in time to get the garbage can out.

Found out that living in a big city is not for me…it to 85 minutes to go the first 95 miles and 55 minutes to go the remaining 7.

**moon unit/B], rum, beer; sounds like your thumb is having more fun than most of us.

shady, we get no choice on family members; hope all goes well with the paypal.

FCM, looking forward to your day out report.

{Butters, Sari), just because you sound like you need them.

nellie, I avoid having technology hate me by no using it very much. Might actually get a cell phone this year and am trying to learn about Bluetooth, but don’t plan on using it. Luddite, I is.

Stay dry,Nut.

Bumba, glad the soap bizness is doing well.

And if I missed anybody, assorted hugs/laughs/groans in their proper proportions.

Now I need to see if there is anything that cleans Pepsi residue out of a keyboard; some of my keys are stttttttttttttttttttticking…

Carpeting might be bad but hard wood floors suck.
Or maybe these weren’t finished right.
I wouldn’t be suprised since most of the other stuff around here was done half assed.

At least the dogs finally settled down to take a nap. They, and the cat, were plucking my nerves this morning. In and out and in and out, and wanting treats, and the dogs wanting to wrestle while sitting on my feet. They have the whole damn yard, and the living room, but no… they have to be on my feet.

I’m really irritated with irk, I hate the new website with a passion.
We’ve gone through other changes, and I’ve always adapted to the changes fairly quickly. But this was a total makeover and it SUCKS big time. It’s not even logical, the data is spread out across multiple pages instead of being concise. And all the gd scrolling, and scrolling, and more scrolling. You don’t need a big fucking header that takes up a third of the page. It’s so bad I actually want to quit, because just looking at the site is that damned irritating.

Hope Tonka is okay.

Rayita, the mama cat was a no show for breakfast. She never misses breakfast.

Her off-springs aren’t due for two more weeks. Hope she is okay. It is her first litter.

I called the vet, but they’re very busy after the long holiday. A guy in the orifice is married to a vet, and he said she said to take Tonka in for blood-work. (Obviously.) Mrs. L.A. isn’t very worried. She says Tonka is sleeping on the ottoman by her feet, as usual. He’s eating (kibble), drinking, and urinating, which the vet’s receptionist said are all good signs. Mrs. L.A. will try the non-fish gooshy food today, and we’ll hope for the best. But we’re getting him in as soon as we can get an appointment.

{{Tonka}}. Get lamb gooshy food. Grainfree.
My little persnickety Siamese cats won’t touch it but Tonka might.

I had a horrible dream of being in a grave and begging folks to pull me up and out:eek:
Of course everyone was appalled I was talking and supposed to be dead. My Daddy was in the dream and telling me to calm down that being dead wasn’t so bad. WTH?
I started steroid therapy yesterday. I wonder if this is why I’m thinking/dreaming these things?
I’m usually of a sunny disposition even in the face of disaster. I fake it real good, even if I’m truly freaked out. But, this has really affected my mood. And, dang it, I don’t like it.
NM. I’ll think about tomorrow. (:))

Other than that I feel good. Pets are all contented. And… I’m busting outta this place today. I’m running away from home. Well, I’m going to the post office, that is.
Y’all have a fine Thursday!

ETA: any news on ruble?

Warning: Dad joke ahead.

A drunk guy was walking through a cemetery one very dark night, when he fell into an open grave. He tried and tried to climb out, but was unable to. He gave up and sat in the darkest corner of the grave. Soon, another drunk guy stumbled into the open grave. He tried and tried to get out, but couldn’t. The first guy says in a grim voice, ‘You’ll never get out!’

But he did!

.

Mama cat is back. And fat as ever.

Closest thing to that I have is dreaming in my 20s about making out with a girl in the back of a car. The car turned into a hearse and the girl a skeleton. I woke up, went back to sleep and broke a window of the moving hearse and jumped out.

I’ve been having too many strange dreams lately. I need to drink more.

I really have nothing going on today. I’m feeling a bit discouraged, but it’s a glorious day out there, so maybe I’ll go for a long walk and count my many blessings.

Becks, were the people in your dream appalled because, being dead (they thought), you were supposed to be quiet, dammit, or because you weren’t dead after all? I think anybody’d be having dreams about death if they were in your shoes simply because even though death isn’t impending, you’ve skated closer to the edge than you’d like. Since society and our own protect-others instinct tells us to paint on a brave face and act like all is fine, just fine, how else does this stuff get expressed if not in dreams?

Sleep with a shovel, that’s my advice. Better a shovel than a hoe! That’s my dad joke for the day.

Spidey, you tellin’ me you don’t like deviled eggs??! You go stand over there with the chocolate-haters and bacon-deniers.

Swampy, I should have figured. I got hung up on the idea of ribs. Bacon-wrapped ribs would actually be pretty good.

MetalMouse, you’re a wise Luddite. Our servants have become our masters.

Moon Unit, glad kitty showed up. Can’t wait to see kitten photos! What are your plans for them? Do they have homes awaiting, or will you be awash in cats at some point?

Flyboy, I hope Goo is OK.

Moooom, hope you and Roxie both get good naps today.

Irk is irksome and busy. I had a call that the Captain was coming by to give us all challenge coins for our outstanding customer service. He came with his secretary but no coins. WTH.

I have been meeting with new vendors. It seems they come in spurts. I signed up a new walking tour today. Got two more scheduled for next week.

I am off to Miami tomorrow for hubs Dr. appointment so fun fun.

In public??!!!

EEEWWWW!

Thanks.

Goo is fine. She just needs a booster shot.

Hey, there are ladies present!
Mom’s here, too.

The :eek:SNOWPOCALYPSE:eek: has begun. Thankfully it’s still above freezing, so the cannibalism in the neighborhood should be kept to a minimum.

Yes, for all our sakes.:stuck_out_tongue:

MoonUnit, glad Momma is back.

And I hope Tonka feels better soon, Flyboy.

Nellie, you made me laugh.
Cheer up girl.

Gotta be a real jerk-off to do that.

Yup.

Speaking of Bacon deniers & canablism.

…& on a somewhat related note, looks like someone was shipping Abby.
