Here’s the Batman Begins trailer At first, it didn’t really impress me but the closer the release, the more excited I get (as excited as I get about films anymore). The posters are going up everywhere and it looks pretty freakin’ cool. Anyone else here know or care much about it?
Christian Bale
Morgan Freeman
Michael Caine
Gary Oldman
Liam Neeson
Ken Watanabe
Tom Wilkinson
Rutger Hauer
Cillian Murphy
With a cast like that (plus the director of Memento and Insomnia), the answer is a definite Yes.
I’m tentatively excited. It looks like it’s going to be more of an origin story, which is something conspicuously absent from the last run of films. It looks like it’s going to actually have Jim Gordon as a real character instead of just the guy who picks up the Batphone and has Chief O’Hara on the payroll. I’m excited by the talent in front of and behind the camera.
I also worry a bit about being disappointed. But I’m filled more with hope than dread.
Semi-excited. I think the Bat-suit looks kind of stupid, but it is better than the Batman and Robin suit.
The cast and director look top-notch, so hopefully it doesn’t get screwed up.
I’m still disappointed that it won’t really be the beginning story that Frank Miller wrote. Especially given how kickass Sin City is supposed to be, that story would have been gritty and awesome. It probably wasn’t flashy enough for studios though: no goofy-ass villians.
I know this film will be worlds better than the camp 3 or 4 movies, but it might also just be formuliac. There are so many GOOD Batman stories that could be adapted, but no one seems to want to make them.
I watched the last few on video and my major complaint was that it was so dark, you couldn’t see half of what was on the screen most of the time.
But with that cast and director…well, it looks like it might be worth a look.
I have high hopes for this. I’ve never seen Christian Bale be less than excellent, and the strong supporting cast is a big plus.
I have high hopes for it as well. I’ve been looking forward to it since it was just a rumor on the IMDB.
I definitely am. It has potential to be fun. I’m not really a fan of Christian Bale, but I was also the one who said Micheal Keaton would make a bad Batman, and I was wrong there!
No! The Batman movies have all sucked… The producers have taken too many liberties with the “original” legend. Same with Superman, Spiderman and to a lesser degree…Daredevil.
Call me a purist…or an old fogey.
