Batshit crazy Michele Bachmann strikes again!

I loved Chris Matthews’ question: “What parts of America would you say are anti-American?”

Man, Minnesota seems to elect some of the best and some of the worst people in the House and Senate. Interesting state.

Meant to add: looking through her official website, nothing crazy immediately pops up; mostly looks generic Republican.

However, the details are interesting. She refers to herself as the mother of “five biological children and 23 foster children”. So, the foster children aren’t biological; does that mean she has her own robot army? Or maybe they’re just software, like those virtual pets all the little kids in Japan had a few years ago.

(If she’s actually taking care of 28 children, that’s pretty remarkable. People are such strange mixtures of good and bad, lucid and batshit.)

This morning, the Censure Bachmann site has nearly forty thousand signatures. I haven’t heard updated campaign fund numbers for Tinklenberg, but it was headed toward half a million last time I looked. Will this be enough to defeat Bachmann?

Imthjckas and I live in St. Cloud, and from the comments posted on the St. Cloud Times forums, it seems like Bachmann has quite a following and it mostly has to do with “Christian” values. “Christian” to these people apparently means, do unto others as long as they look, think, and act like me.

Sure. You’ve got Vikings fans and under-the-radar-for-fear-of-persecutuon-by-psychotic-Vikings-fans Packers fans.

One is a bunch of purple-clad traitors, the other is a bunch of ‘Real America’ patriots.

Its somewhat worse, they call him “El” yep - El Tinklenberg - which sounds like some Norwegian mariachi player or bullfighter…

(I can walk to her district, but am safe in Betty’s).

Don’t tell this to Barack Hussien Obama.

Of some additional concern to the Bachmann camp must be that Aubrey Immelman, her former rival in the Republican primary, has announced his plan to run as a write-in candidate.

As the *St. Cloud Times *reported,

– Tammi Terrell

Yeah, it kinda sucks to be a liberal, lesbian, pretty broke environmentalist in this district. I miss Paul Wellstone…

I thought perhaps y’all would like to see what some of our esteemed locals think of the surge in donations.

The comments just get worse from there…but there is a significant number of anti-Bachmann comments from locals which cheers me up; I think perhaps the tide may be turning a little bit.

Bachmann may be re-elected this year but re-districting will happen soon and I think that will end her public idiocy.

Al Franken and the Coen Brothers for President(s)!*

*Um…can we elect Jews to high offices?

Well, for a mostly white, German-Scandinavian largely rural state, we elected the only Muslim to the US Congress, and are about to send the only Hindu/Jainist to join him!

Those 23 foster children were not all in her household at once, but were over many years. She & her husband have been foster parents for quite some time.

It’s the best thing I have heard about her.
Though the reason – to ensure that children grow up knowing that Jesus Christ loves them – seems more about proselytizing for her religion than caring about the children. Still, they were probably better off than in an institution.

To be real cynical, though, she didn’t do this for free – she got paid a lot of taxpayer dollars to care for those children.

Well, some of us of a certain age are just waiting for Election Day, when we hope El will really KaBonggg! her.

Tinklenberg is a Minnesota thing:
TINKLENBERG Surname Distribution
Also, maybe Alaska.

Hey, leave me out of it. I wouldn’t touch her with a barge pole.

*There are Jews in Minnesota? I know there are - I’ve run into one or two, but I think about 3% of the total are currently competing for a seat in the U.S. Senate.

Wonderful! Your stepping in with a comment is absolutely perfect. However, a barge pole is wht I’d love to touch her with. Just one quick thwack!

It is sad how someone so batshit crazy (a good phrase) can be associated with a mild midwest state such as Minnesota. However, Wisconsin did have both Ed Gein and Joe McCarthy. Over the past year it has been McCarthy who has come to mind when I’ve heard Bachmann spew her venom. We really don’t need another one like that in Congress.

Well, between Ed Gein and Joe McCarthy, I guess McCarthy is the guy I feel more comfortable having come to mind when I think of elected representatives. Say what you will about Michelle Bachmann, I still think she’s a bit better grounded than Ed Gein.

Let’s not go jumping to any conclusions until we’ve seen the inside of her freezer.

She and Palin are buddies; I’d expect to find moose burgers and smoked salmon.

Both of which have been marinated in Alaskan sweet crude.
