My initial thought is that the Mod Squad is toast no matter what. That leaves Hannibal’s A-Team against Nate Ford’s Leverage team. Depending on the scenario and goals, I could imagine either team winning. Ultimately I think team Leverage would win more often than not. Either way, it woulda been fun to see Eliott fight B.A. and Hannibal wage a battle of wits against Nate Ford. Sophie no doubt would do her best to seduce Face, but could he turn the tables on her? What crazy antics would Murdock and Parker get into? And would Hardisson be the X-factor that tips the scales?
Well, the A-team survives under-the-radar and off-the-grid, so Hardisson would have issues tracking them and seizing their bank accounts and assets. But he is freakin’ HARDISSON, so not only would he shut down whatever pipelines they had, he’d summon the army.
Mr. T is badass, but he’s a big, strong badass. Eliot is a highly trained, efficient killing machine. Advantage: Eliot.
Sophie’s a great actress, and quite a looker, but Face… well, one look from Face and both Parker and Sophie are out of commission. Fortunately, Nate foresaw this possibility and in walks Tara (Jeri Ryan). Boom, down goes the Faceman.
Advantage: Tara
Hannibal is a crafty strategist, he’s reached the rank of Lt. Colonel, and probably would have gone higher if it wasn’t for his blatant disrespect for authority. (Well, other people’s authority) He’s nutured and kept his crew safe despite being mercilessly hunted by the best the Army has left. But his training is still military, and he and his team are used to scaring the bad guys away. Except there’s nothing Nate’s afraid of anymore after IYS took away his son. Nate will use every resource his team has to prevail – and he’ll sweep the rug out from under Hannibal’s feet before Hannibal even knows there’s a rug there.
Advantage: Nate
Parker vs, Murdock? No idea. They’re both so unorthodox, they’re hard to predict.
Overall, I think the Leverage crew’s subtle triple and quadruple-cross tactics will leave the A-team with their heads spinning.
Such tactics will, by definition, leave the A-Team trapped inside a locked building.
While they were all fighting it out, the team from Hu$tle would eat them for lunch.
I gotta vote for the Mod Squad.
What?
Let’s go steal us an A-Team.
They’d never even know that they’d been manipulated.
But would it be a locked building conveniently stocked with a set of tools and everything they need to escape and fight back?
That’s the idea.
Another thing I was thinking; team Leverage has a way of making their marks and opponents believe that they’ve forced Ford’s crew to resort to plan B or plan C or worse, when in fact “plan C” is actually plan “A” all along. Even if Hannibal figures a way to counter Leverage’s apparent plan of attack, the A-Team is likely to be playing right into their hands.
Without commenting on any other aspect of this battle. I’ve got to say that this particular pairing doesn’t even qualify as a fight. Given that Mr. T is about as subtle and predictable as a charging bull and that Eliot is a confirmed cock puncher (see this video at eight minutes, ten seconds in), Mr. T is going down fast and hard.
Agreed. Against Eliot, B.A. Is pretty much “thug number three.”.
Hell, is there anyone at all in TV land that could take down Eliot?
Okay, I’ve never watched Leverage so you have me at a disadvantage there.
I agree that Mod Squad is right out.
But how about the Losers vs A-Team?
-
They’ve got the advantage of numbers. Six members (five if you don’t count Rocque) against four. So the Losers will always have one person free to strike.
-
Clay vs Hannibal. Pretty much equal here. They’ll both hold back waiting to see how the rest of their team does.
-
Pooch vs Mr T. No, it’s not a black thing. They match up because they’re both the drivers. Pooch might not be able to take T one-on-one but he’s a lot smarter than T. He’ll evade and keep T out of action. Expect car chases and explosions.
-
Jensen vs Face or Murdock. Hard to say who we match up here. Should Jensen be competing against Face in one-liners and charming the ladies or go against Murdock in irreverancy and tech skills? Either way it’ll be a side issue that won’t decide the main fight.
-
Aisha vs Amanda/Tawnia. Seriously? C’mon, Aisha could take on Amanda and Tawnia at the same time. And I’d pay good money to watch it. We’ll stage this one someplace with a lot of vegetable oil.
-
The Cougar factor. The Losers have a sniper who can kill people at incredible distances. The A-Team has no countermeasure to this.
MacGyver could find a way. Probably a way including two paperclips, a rubber band, some chewing gum and a melting ice cube for a trigger but it would work…somehow.
Hannibal Smith wins if he’s prepared.
