After losing my previous list a few weeks ago, I finally got around to re-adding all of the names from the old thread. However, it dawned on me that after these last few months, it might be a good idea for an update. You know, in case someone has changed accounts due to an obsolete clan tag or some new folks have come along.
I know Ethilrist is still going at it on his Colin_Blackthorn account since I saw him recently in a video recorded on the Team HAF server. (For those curious, it was PlaneWhore: The Movie. It features a rather incredible bit of piloting.)
I’m still playing on Palooka. Who else do we have?
Im still there as YeticusRex. Sometimes I use *** as a prefix since my son is on Team Wonderful as n00b|nator. My other son hasn’t been playing lately, but he is destroyercon.
Almost a Staff Sergeant…slowly but surely. I almost deleted myself…wanted to get off to a better start because I really screwed around too much when I first started. We are looking to buy the expansion soon for a Christmas gift to ourselves.
Still [DCW]BazookaJoe, but I haven’t fired up that game in weeks thanks to Civ4 and The Movies. All of my friends who used to roll with DCW years ago are badgering me to start playing again, so I expect I’ll be back on more frequently.
I’m BuckGullet. I don’t play on any specific server, but I have been almost exclusively playing on BF2:SF servers. I really like the expansion maps. Well, except for the awful, awful Iron Gator.
Holy cow that movie file is hugigantoic. It’s even bigger than the patch you have to download immediately after installing the expansion pack.
… and there’s yet another patch coming out soon… maybe they’ll fix that little problem of showing up as an enemy to your teammates that they added in the next-most-recent patch…
Excellent. I’ve gotten ya’ll added up and hopefully we’ll hook up at some point. I saw a few of you today, but I had log in issues. Hopefully next time.
Another patch sounds good. Hopefully it won’t take forever and a half like 1.03. Certainly a few balances issues and missing features that I can think of.
Last night, I was on a server that was so buggy, but yet had so many noobs on there, that I had something like 46 points AFTER they deducted 34 points for teamkills since half my guys were red…and this server disallowed teamkill punishments and didn’t kick anyone off for them! As soon as I saw that score, (along with half of our side getting negative numbers in the second column, but we STILL won that round!), I immediately got off that server…I wish I remembered the name of it…I was all geeked up on my potential high score until I saw what I had actually done, and I was pissed off when I found out at the end.
I saw Palooka for one game on StrafeRight last night…but he was lone-wolfing it on that game, and then disappeared after that for the night. I so wanted to teamkill you once just to say “HI OPAL!” or “I BROUGHT PIE.” or some other SD reference.
I remember that game. It had that bug where you’re unable to create a squad, which, in addition to the red/blue name bug, tops my list of things-that-need-patching.
In other news, they’ve announced some of the changes in the upcoming patch. You can check out the list at the bottom of this thread. I’d be interested in knowing what they were thinking with some of them, since they don’t seem necessary or make existing problem worse. For example, “Medic paddles… now reload while not in use.”
Dolphin Diving is when a person jumps into the air and prones while still in mid-air. When they do this, they are extremely difficult to hit due to the low prone profile and that they’re moving through the air. Additionally, they get prone-level accuracy with their weapon. It is repeated over and over so no one ever has a good shot at them. Basically, it’s the extreme version of bunnyhopping.
Prone Spamming is when, generally with a macro, one prones many times per second. When jumping, this causes a bit of hangtime so you can reach areas that were previously unreachable. There is a popular spot on Karkand near the Hotel flag for this. If done on the ground, it is just hard to hit the person, but not to the same extreme as dolphin diving.
Sprint Exploit is something invented by DICE to make it seem like they’re fixing more things than they really are.
You can save the leaderboard and bookmark it for easy reference later (if you have not done it already). You can remove my 2 kids from the list by hitting the green ‘-’ on the right and then save the leaderboard again. It’s nice to have this list to find out what servers everyone is on.
Ponster male of the species is ptegan1984, me (who always forgets to sign out of the conjugal computer) doesn’t get to play … aplogies for bad grammar.
