I downloaded this last night, haven’t played it yet. I tried to just a moment ago, it told me I needed a plugin, which I downloaded. Then I tried to run a game and the “matchmaking” thing was taking forever so I booted it. Does it normally take a long time for that (maybe since so many people are likely playing it)? I am dying to at least see it.
ETA: I have a pretty speedy cable connection, about 20-25 Mb Down and about 2-3 Up.
I’m downloading it right now, and I’m totally in!
I’m a tad better at FPS once I get up and running than I am at Civ.
Oh, and on Origin I’m RMcnally.
I was able to play a little tonight. FFS it’s hard to see people. I seriously died 15 times, all of which I have no idea who killed me.
Haven’t tried it in a few days but everything I’ve read suggests that using the server browser is faster to find a match than the matchmaking selection… Might try that if you still haven’t gotten in.
Hey guys, the Caspian border map is going to be open to PC gamers this weekend. So if you hadn’t had the chance to try it yet, this your chance before the beta goes away.

There’s no voice chat built into the game… is this a beta thing or what?
And why can’t I spot anything? It’s “Q”, right?
It’d be shocking if there’s no built in voice chat, as being able to communicate with your squadron would be very beneficial.

Frankly I am more and more turned off by this game.
It looks fantastic but no VOIP and stuck to Origin…just not sure.
I want to play this but the Devs have really thrown some roadblocks in the way for no good reason.

Well, the good news is having Vent would give us a leg up if we do SDMB v pubs.
If and when you get a SDMB server up, I would be interested. I enjoy these kinds of games but, at 38, I have a short tolerance for the spam, racism, and l3wt speak.
Playing with some adults would be fun.
