So we finally get to see how the Colonials are gonna react to having Baltar in custody. And the Cylon most directly responsible for their holocaust. Who will they hate more? My money’s on Baltar since as a human he’s expected to show some loyalty to the human race.
Of course, the fun is going to come from Baltar not knowing that Six is with them, and Six not knowing that Baltar survived the sun going poof.
Think this one is a stand alone episode. Not expecting much advancement in the major arcs. Do know that Baltar
Will wake up in a tub-o-goo, but it’s a dream sequence.
Survivor Count: 41, 403
I fear that’s the closed RDM will ever come to dealing with homosexuality on BSG . The Colonials don’t appear to be very good at guarding prisioners . Strip Baltar and chain him up in his cell . And do the same for 6 for all of the straigh male and lesbian viewers.
Kara Thrace & Her Special Destiny = Band Name!
Apollo is a sloppy drunk.
Okay who here doesn’t think Gaeta was in love with Baltar?
The Scifi.com bonus scene was pretty interesting…they should have found a way to get it into the show.
I loved the Gaeta/Baltar confrontation. “I literally had a gun to my head…” Good stuff.
In the extended bonus scene from the SciFi website:
Caprica 6 pushes for Baltar to get a trial, and promises to testify for the prosecution.
Overall, a mediocre episode. Really didn’t like the way the editing meshed the Baltar stuff with the Lee’s Love Triangle stuff. For that matter, I’m pretty much tired of the soap opera. Get divorced, keep cheating, whatever…just quit using valuable screen time with this drivel.
Was that the hybrid that pushed Baltar down during the last drug-induced waterboarding deal?
THe Cylons are messing with your mind.
It might be time to bring back the Gaeta = Gaylon speculation. What was with the eyeroll towards the not so hidden camera? Was he just nervous, or trying to tip off Baltar? And why did Gaeta try to kill Baltar? Fear of being outted?
Reality check: Why would the President be interogating a prisoner? Why would she be alone and unarmed with an unrestrained known cylon model?
Credit where due: Not one of my favorite episodes, but James Callis gave an excellent performance.
First time I ever dozed off during a BSG episode. This series needs to wrap it up in two more seasons, and get back to what drew me in the first time. Days of Our Battlestar Galactica is blowing chunks.
Can anyone tell me why the Final Five Cylons would be hanging out in an ancient temple halfway across the galaxy? That doesn’t make any sense to me.
What did Baltar say to Gaeta?
Anyone?
-Joe
“You shore have a purty mouth.”
Were they in the temple, or was that just a way to access who they are? Because if they were only in the temple, they’re not around anymore.
I agree that Lee is a bad drunk. He had a drinking buddy in the Chief until he pressed on that Boomer question. Asking once and saying okay, and then explaining why he asked (second thoughts about Kara) would have been acceptable.
When Adama was standing over a restrained Baltar, I turned to my friend and said, “Crockett and Tubbs, I want you to get Jesus here to talk.”
Only the second ep of the new BSG I’ve seen, and while it was well done, the show seems to be lacking something. I may not stick with it.
Seconded. And Starbuck’s character is just getting WAY too cliched. We get it, she’s self destructive and damaged. Let’s add some depth. Hell, show her shaving her armpits or something, I don’t care.
The Apollo-Starbuck soap opera as B-story continues to bore the heck out of me. Even if it was a good chance to showcase Dee looking all dewy-eyed (which the actress does, and well). I think they would have been better off cutting a scene or two of Apollo being sloppy drunk, and sticking the Six-clip into the episode, since it had real bearing on the A-plot.
Also, “Joe’s” was just as dumb as Ten Forward (with Guinan wearin a shoe on her head), or the Zocolo (with the neon Zima sign). It’s a bar on a working hangar deck. As dumb as putting it on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier.
Heck, I’ve thought that since season 1. What was surprising was that something may well have happened between them. Baltar may well have gotten more ass on this show than Starbuck has.
So, is the next episode “Maelstrom”?
Explanation that I read elsewhere is it had to do with a subplot that got dropped. Something about the Saggitons (whoever they are) back on New Caprica. Think they figure into the next episode.
Speaking of the next episode, I think the title is “The Woman King”, and it deals with a shortage of medical supplies…
