Battlestar Galactica 3.20 - "Crossroads (part two)" - spoilers

All of this has had spoilers before, and all of this will have spoilers again.

Spoiler policy: If it’s been aired, or if it’s purely speculative, no need for a spoiler box. If it’s from a future episode, as revealed in interviews or other promotional material, or if it’s speculation based on same, use a spoiler box. And label the box with a general description of the spoiler so we can decide whether it’s something we want to know.

Preview for this week’s episode (warning: ambiguous but significant spoiler).

Well, kids, here we are. The big finish.

Are we off in a thrilling new direction, or are they about to frak up a once great show? I haven’t read the OMG Spoilers! WEEEEEE everybody else is talking about, so tonight will be totally fresh.

Or it would be, except for the way SciFi’s promodroids just couldn’t keep a major development under their hat. No, they didn’t totally give it away. But they came close. Motherfrakkers.

Also, for the record, next season (the fourth and likely last) was announced as being renewed a few weeks ago, with 13 shows. That was recently expanded to 22 shows, which will be BSG’s longest season, by two episodes. (13 in one, 20 each in two and three.) And that “special event” movie has also been confirmed, though the date is not yet specified; it’ll be late fall or early winter. Season four will launch shortly thereafter, in early 2008. Detail-free announcement.

Come on, Ron. Don’t frak it up…

According to TitanTV, this episode will run one hour and three minutes. Folks who are recording it might want to tack a little extra time on at the end.

22 episodes? That seems to include that rumoured DVD movie. Is that why season 4 won’t start until Jan?

Should be lots of Big Things going on. From the preview, looks like we’ll get a verdict in Baltar’s trial, some space battle, and unmask one or more cylons. Some naked Callie would be nice, but doesn’t look likely :frowning:

I have read the spoilers, and judging by last week, it looks like they were mostly true. I predict much moaning and gnashing of teeth after this episode airs. Also predict that this thread will hit the five page mark. As Worf once said, “We have much to discuss”…

Tivo better work flawlessly this week, because I’m going to have to miss the episode to pick the wife up at the airport. We’ve already blocked out time tomorrow morning to watch both parts back to back, followed by the Rome finale (I love Spring Break!). But yeah, based on how accurate the spoilers have been so far…much to discuss.

The expansion of Season 4 to 22 episodes leads me to think that Ron shared the Plan with TPTB, and they agreed to give him enough rope.

I’m wondering if they recorded multiple versions of the preview for this week. Just saw it again, and thought I heard a different voice uttering the fateful line than I heard before…

I wouldn’t put it past them. Easy enough to do, and it would keep everybody guessing. After all, it is rather the bombshell.

I’d say the song is now confirmed…

I knew Baltar’s trial would be a farce, but not like this.

<totally lame nitpicky observation>page 270-something? He was way further into that law book than that. </lame>

Now we get to the major WTF! moment we’ve been waiting for all season.

Well, that was pretty fracking good, I think.

Ugh. I was really hoping it wouldn’t be her. Here’s hoping he’s hallucinating.

Oh, yah. Wasn’t there some actual fact that Lee Adama was supposed to testify about? In support of a motion, which mysteriously disappeared? And since when in the world of frakkingdom is testifying in the narrative not even worth a blink?

I was actually fairly happy with how they ended the trial. Apollo’s speech was good, though kind of a “duh” moment. Granted, the trial shouldn’t have been put in the series in the first place…

The music for this episode is pretty good.

And, well, the end. Bah. Starbuck should stay dead… Apollo had better be crazy.

Minor hijack: what does Anders actually do on the Galactica? He wears a uniform, sleeps with the rest of the crew, and hangs out with all the other main characters. But did he ever actually sign up with the Colonial military, officially?

Wasn’t throwing the robes over Baltar a little heavy handed?

Well, this is the Colonial legal system, not the American…

Earth! Earth! Woo hoo!

Fellated with great alacrity as expected.

What made Chief, Tighe, etc. believe themselves to be Cylons?

Why the Jimi Hendrix tune? The fleet is close enough to earth to receive radio signals?

Gods damn that was good! Did the finale make anyone else wanna get stoned? Who were Baltar’s new friends? They’re not Cylons and I don’t think they’re just another group of civilians. Could they be Lords of Kobol? And Earth is real and it’s “our” Earth. Could anyone tell if there were signs of civilization on Earth?
