I pray we shall be spared “Battlestar, the Musical.”
The way I understand it, Boomer (Valerii) was born on Troy and killed in the mining accident there when she was young (mentioned on the show, I’m almost positive, possibly in a discussion between her and Tyrol) and the Cylon agent on Troy (remember, there were Cylons everywhere softening up the defenses for the main assault) took her likeness and story and made her a Cylon.
I know she discusses her childhood with someone (maybe Commander Adama?) and they talk about Troy and the accident there, which is one of the first times we see her questioning her own upbringing.
To the tune of Going Through the Motions:
Starbuck:
Every single launch the same arrangement
I go out and fight the fight
No one seems to see Baltar’s derangement
Nothing here is real, nothing here is right
I’m the best at every thing it seems
But I’m just going through the motions
Walking through the part
Rebar doesn’t seem to penetrate my heart
Toasters:
She does pretty well with things Cylon
but lately she’s gone way beyond what should be normal
With a Viper
Best at all she tries
I’ll bet that without wings at all she flies
Starbuck:
Will I stay this way each season?
Humping everything I seize on?
Baltar:
I am the VP…
Starbuck:
Not for long!
I just want to be…
Blasting through the Cylons
Fast in overdrive
I will always do, what Roslin wants me to
Adama will eat me…alive!
Do have the oft ask for cite, or is this speculation on your part?
Thanks,
CP
This happens in the episode where she goes to Baltar for the test and he lies to her about the result. Six leans over Baltar’s shoulder talking about how Boomer’s whole past disappeared while they’re waiting for the result.
Thanks!
But then, was Six lying?
More from “Battlestar, the Musical”!
Tom Jarek visits BG and sings:
“I Like To Be On Galactica”
I like to be on Galactica,
OK by me on Galactica,
Ev’rything free on Galactica,
Just elect me on Galactica …
When someone comments on Baltar’s odd behavior, you get Lt. Gaeta’s big solo:
“Baltar’s High”
*Some people say he’s a lonely island,
Lost in the middle of a foggy sea.
Most people long for an explanation,
One that they know they will understand.
Baltar’s High, I know it,
Every night, every day,
In your heart, you’ll know that he’s
Sniffing glue … sniffing glue …*
And don’t forget Number Six singing …
“Hey, Baltar, Superstar”
Battlestar galactiva, the musica, you say?
Is this pure speculation, or based on dialogue from the show? From what I remember, during her Cylon test she told Baltar she was from Troy and her parents were killed in the mining accident. Then Six mocked her as the poor little girl from Troy, etc. because that’s what Sharon was programmed to believe. When was it said there were Cylon agents everywhere softening up defenses, and taking peoples’ likenesses?
In any event, I always thought that an odd conversation between Baltar & Sharon. Of course you would express your condolences at the loss of someone’s parents, but at the same time, pretty much everyone’s parents have just been killed.
It’s been 50 days since the attack and by now, I suppose most people are coming to terms with their grief. Ron Moore has missed his chance to explore, at least a bit, how the fleet would be dealing with 47,000 grief-stricken people. Depression? Suicides? Fighting? Is the Smoking Doctor synthesizing Xanax & Valium like crazy?
