I suggest that if a jump has to be “calculated” it would be easy to backtrack. I would also think that weren’t jumping in a straight line, but in non predictable directions.
I’m curious as to why the remaining Cylon fighters “bugged out” after the destruction of their base. Sure, they were unable refuel and rearm, but their initial loadout and numbers should’ve been enough to cause some major havoc. Did I miss something?
It’s been pointed out in previous episodes that the Raiders are of an essentially animal-like intelligence - they’re just smart enough to fly themselves, tell friend from foe, and shoot to kill. Perhaps the Cylon equivalent of an Air Traffic Controller was in the base feeding them tactical information, and with its destruction they went into a self-preservation mode?
I’m not so sure. Six’s pleasure at Baltar’s newfound belief that he’s an instrument of (the one) God, even though it cost her own people a major base and an opportunity to wipe the humans out, suggest that her goal at least is to convert the heathens, away from their worship of the many gods of Olympus. The Caprica humanoids have something other than extermination in mind for Helo too, obviously.
Maybe there’s a schism in Cylonworld - the less-developed toasters may be bent only on revenge, but the humanoids they created may be just using them to advance their own goal of dominion over all of the sentient races, humans and toasters alike. Man created the toaster Cylons and they rebelled - the toaster Cylons created the humanoids and they in turn are rebelling?
What did Six tell Baltar was in the prophecy, and was it the same as what Elosha told Roslin? That the 12 “vipers” would lead to the final confrontation at the home of the gods, right? Sounds like confirmation, if any were needed, that the series finale will be the big shootout in the skies over Kobol.
Um, because they didn’t expect to have another war? The meetings at the Panmunjom treaty asteroid were entirely routine until *that * Six appeared and told the human ambassadors “It’s on, baby”.
I’m not worried about the proliferation of reporters. Any gay-hooker blogger could get onboard Colonial One and ask the President softball questions. What’s the big deal?
For those who haven’t checked it out, someone posted a link to the SciFi Channel website a few weeks ago that had a listing of all the ships in the fleet, their history and abilities. I seem to remember that ring ship being mentioned (I want to say it was a luxury cruise ship of some sort).
BSG’s main problem is going to be a lack of Vipers. Think one of the other ships (maybe the mining ship) has refining capabilities? It looked like Chief was building a new thruster in the hanger this episode, so they’re going through some rebuilding, albeit very incrimentally.
Eventually. I’ve read that Mr. Moore’s keeping track of the number of Vipers lost. I imagine he’s keeping the ammunition issue in mind as well.
I would also imagine Galactica’s writing charts as they go. Jumps have to be planned, after all. It’s hard to know where you’re going if you don’t know where you are.
Like others have said, it’s a good bet the Cylons know about these stashes if they exist. Still, it’s a good idea, and it would’ve been nice for the crew of the Galactica to mention that these reserves exist but it would unwise to go anywhere near them. Adama’s long since taken the fleet far past any charted territory.
Spoilers for the season finale:They know where they are and where they’ve been. Starbuck ends up taking her pet Raider back to Caprica.
Damn you! Damn you to hell! I want to read that spoiler so bad, but I’ll be extremely pissed at myself if I do…
Don’t read it. I did and I wish I hadn’t.
damn my weak soul
How does it come to pass that?
One thing I wondered:
Where did they get all the bottles of late-harvest riesling for their celebration?
I would hope so. I’d hate for this to turn into another Voyager, with it’s seemingly infinite supply of shuttles and torpedos, despite being a million miles from nowhere.
In fact, so far, BSG is what Voyager should have been all along.
I’m sure they’re keeping some in storage.
Or else they had some bottles left over from the decommisioning and the Chief finally got that still up and running…
StarbucK:“I’m not a big wine drinker, but is it supposed to have a Viper fuel aftertaste?”
Just because I love “Break out the compressiom phaser rifles.” so much:
B&B said they were building replacements from materials they mined.
Did they ever mention this in the show?
I don’t believe so. I think it was in a Berman chat. What about the shuttle Paris built?
Well Helio and Balter are part of their breeding plan, so that is the interest in them. They may keep balter around for a while, maybe to watch the newborns (when they arive). BTW am I the only one that thinks that there is a six somewhere that is pregnant with Balters baby from their adventures on Caprica?
As for the toasters, all evidence has shown that they do nothing but blindly follow what they are told to do i.e. by human form cylons.
Yes, as I have previously predicted, there will be a battle on Kobol, which is obviously the end of the season due to the titles. This doesn’t mean that the point isn’t to get information to find earth and that is why these humans still exist in the cylons eyes (besides their hybrid plans). Why do you think that cylons are interested in Kobol?
So who “made” the human like Cylons?
I’m guessing that the Cylon God, whoever or whatever that is, was the one who created the newer models.
Sorry. I thought it was a pretty tame spoiler, to be honest.
Sometimes Janeway’s logs mentioned that they traded for such and such or found some rare and valuable materials on a planet they passed or whatever. It’s not really enough to account for all the supplies needed, but what do you expect from Voyager?
