I read the whole thread. I don’t remember anyone commenting on…
(spoiler from the preview for the next episode)
The person holding the gun to Cain has serious welts on their wrists. That leaves Pegasus Six or Boomer as the two possibilities, with it most likely being Pegasus Six.
I hadn’t noticed that. But then it could also be Helo or Tyrol, who had been handcuffed. I doubt Cain would address Gina to her/its face, even to say “Frak you”, though.
Maybe, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Baltar is interesting largely because he inhabits a grey area between the human and cylon worlds, so to speak. He’s having thoughts that place him on the cylon side in some circumstances (e.g., protecting the baby from Adama), but as he pointed out earlier he’s on his own side, not that of either the humans or the cylons. If he goes fully over to the cylon side, he becomes a much less interesting and nuanced character, IMO. Given that characterization is the biggest strength of the show, I doubt they’d go that way.
It’s hard to tell, but it looks like a male hand to me. Also, the cuff looks like it might belong to a flight jacket. Which would leave… Apollo? He doesn’t seem like a likely candidate though.
The skin color isn’t right for Boomer. The part of the sleeve you see is the same color as the new uniform that Baltar gave Pegasus Six. I just threw Boomer in there since they had made a point to show close ups of the marks on both women’s wrists during the episode.
I’d like to suggest a standard nomenclature for the Cylon meatbags. The model name should be first, followed by a subscript indicating which copy is being referred to. So Baltar’s personal Six would be Six[sub]Baltar[/sub], the one on Pegasus would be Six[sub]Pegasus[/sub], the one on Caprica would be Six[sub]Caprica[/sub], etc. The current Boomer isn’t the original Galactica Boomer, but since she’s the only one at the moment we can call her Boomer[sub]Galactica[/sub]. If you get lazy, you can use the form Six[sub]Bal[/sub], Six[sub]Peg[/sub], etc., and if you get really lazy you can use Six[Bal].
Cain’s plan is senseless - and it would seem obvious that she is more than slightly nuts. Did anyone on her crew come across as sympathetic? The XO doesn’t look too bad, but he is after all, an enabler. And of course there is the crew chief who may have had his family executed. But everyone else looks like they are trying out for the lead in the next Colonial slasher movie - the characters from Pegasus thought it was great that the interrogator was going to rape the current Boomer. I suspect it is the Pegasus Six that goes to kill Cain - after all, she ordered that she be kept alive. Besides, Galactica is trying to escape, but Cain & Co want to take out as many Toasters as they can. Cain and the Pegasus are unpredictable and dangerous to both humans and Cylons. That makes me suspect that the Pegasus is doomed.
[slight hijack] I don’t remember the original series much (I was only five or so) but was the president a character in it?
Are there any sites or SDMB threads that discuss the differences and the similarities between the two series (if not, anyone want to start such a thread)?[/slight hijack]
No, there was no visible head of state in the fleet. But we did occasionally see a “council of twelve” that exerted some kind of authority over Lorne Greene’s Adama.
and the council basically sucked ass. They constantly made Adama’s job difficult. He should have executed them. It was their fault the Cylons took out the homeworlds oin the first place.
