Battlestar Galactica 2.15 — "Sacrifices" (frakkin' spoilage)

Is it wrong that i sort of expect the corpse of Billy to sit up and start moaning for BRAAAIIINNNSSS!!!

I reckon Billy wasn’t a Cylon.

I was thinking more along the lines of “Mrs. President, it turns out they only winged me. I’m ready to get back to work!”.

So…what was the deal with Sharon at the end?

Aside from that, I gotta say that I’m glad Dualla is alive. I like looking at her.

-Joe, shallow

She was contemplating renewing her Poetic License.
I dunno, they through in that “’ would you tell me about the other Cylons in the fleet?’ -‘No.’” I guess they are building a story on her loyalty.

Maybe the Meatbag Toasters like Sharon have a set of Robocop-esque directives…
1; Serve the public trust
2; protect the innocent
3; uphold the law
4; classified

Toaster directives would be;
1; infiltrate Human society
2; attempt breeding with Humans
3; make snide comments of how Humans aren’t worth saving
4; Classified (do not reveal the presence of other sleeper units to the humans)

Just looked to me like they were reestablishing her as a [potential?] threat. Fact is, we don’t have the slightest idea what the frak her agenda is, and the blank stare at the ceiling was an effective way of reminding us of that at the end of an episode where the humans were killing each other over her continued existence.

Good episode. I wish they’d stop dipping into the “It’s the Admiral’s son!”/“Apollo may be dying!” plot bag, but a solid, tension-filled show nonetheless. Extra credit for killing Billy.

Next week looks gooooooood . . .

Ok… I know that was another cylon in the bar…the skinny reporter one from early on… I think he blowed (a copy of) himself up all suicide like in season 1.

I would’ve loved to have let the (insert one-shot charectors name here) know that she herself had a ‘cylon on board’… Interesting that it wasn’t commented on at all, yet.

So, We know there was 8, now there are 7.

Also, nicely absent was Baltar and Six… nice to see that they can move outside the box fairly effectively.

After 2 weeks of 7s, this was a solid 10… my faith is restored.

So it wasn’t just me! I thought I saw him too. The PR guy - Leoben?

The way he hid his face was suspicious, too. But since the wntire fleet (should) know what he looks like, certainly he’s a useless infiltrator?

Sharon - I’m sorry, I just don’t see her as a threat. Is she potentially dangerous? Yes. But she has saved them many times. She’s been a good prisoner. I’m not saying they should give her free run of the ship, but it seems they could show a little trust.

-Joe

Insert knife into chest cavity, twist clockwise, then counterclockwise, withdraw forcefully.

Reach hand into chest cavity, grab bleeding, beating heart, withdraw forcefully.

Drop bleeding, beating heart to floor, commence to stompin’.

No. the PR guy is Doral, but I don’t believe he was there.

Damn, damn, damn! I can’t believe they killed Billy. He was supposed to be president some day!

Fuckin’ stupid show.

Dualla is an indecisive slut. Kill her next.

I admit I saw the long dead Boomer coming but I was kinda hoping for a Jon Woo thing where they send in Mama Boomer alive and armed and have her ninja out on the terrorists.

That would look good on RTNN (Rag Tag News Network):
“Cylon agent feigns death, kills colonists for Adama”.

Especially if they’re going to show him on his feet, no worse for wear, on the highlights for the next week’s episode.

Yep, he hadn’t shown any depth or any likelihood of getting any soon, just of becoming this series’ Wesley Crusher. Too bad about the redshirts, though - they can’t replace them all that easily.

The confrontation could have been defused with the public statement about Boomer that Billy had urged. I don’t see why Adama and Roslin shat on the idea, unless they simply thought that nothing Billy had to say was worth considering.

As soon as Dualla warned him about looking at the bad guys, I started singing “Billy, don’t be a hero…”

“…don’t be a fool with your li-ii-ii-fe!!”

The good:

No flashbacks or “48 hrs earlier…”

Ellen thinking Lee wanted her go to in the bathroom to “do it”

Adama ignoring Roslin’s “we don’t negotiate with terrorists” rhetoric

Dualla looked fabulous!

I liked the ambiguous ending with Sharon just staring at the ceiling…what’s she thinking? Great ending to keep us guessing and waiting for more!
The non-good:

Ellen’s drink changing from a martini to a dry ice drink…how’d that happen?

Starbuck “volunteering” for the mission…doesn’t everyone in the fleet know who Starbuck is by now? Then of course she screwed it up

No Baltar…what’s he been up to for the last 2 eps…

It was fogging in the bar, just not as dramatically. I know this because we had to pause while WhyKid pointed it out and asked if someone couldn’t damage themselves drinking dry ice. That was before the bathroom.

Starbuck “volunteering” for the mission…doesn’t everyone in the fleet know who Starbuck is by now? Then of course she screwed it up

[quote]

When she showed up dressed as the repairman I kind of rolled my eyes–Starbuck is gonna save the day again–but I’m sure the creators knew that the audience was expecting that by now, so that made the supreme clusterfuck that followed all the more surprising and rewarding (dramatically speaking, that is).

Great episode!

Minus two points for having no space combat, but plus two points for killing Billy, I give it a nice 7/10. Starbuck looks good with longer hair. I have no idea why Lee had to get shot, it seemed like completely pointless drama farming to me.

Plus they’ve only been on the run for what, 200 days or so? Remarkable how fast the crew of Galactica recovers from serious leg injuries and gunshot wounds to the chest, I reckon Apollo will be back in fighting trim by the end of the season.

I didn’t see Doral in the bar, but that would’ve been neat.

Good episode, say 8 out of 10.

At least we know that Starbuck isn’t the best damn undercover agent in the fleet.

Admittedly I was suprised about Billy, I thought Dualla was going to buy the farm. Would have been good drama for Lee and Billy:

Billy:“The terrorists killed my fiancee”
Lee:“Fiancee?!? She was my girlfriend”
Billy:“Frack you Lee” (swings)
(Lee dishes out whoopass on Billy)

Leading to another Adama/Roslyn power struggle…

The press is supposedly all over the Galactica crew to the point of ferreting out and broadcasting classified info and yet the terrorists don’t recognize Starbuck? Shouldn’t she - after say Adama, the Prez, & maybe Baltar - be the most famous face in the Fleet?

Thats just qubbiling though.

When Billy stood up to Adama and proposed & then showed up on the date I thought Wow they are devloping the Billy Character I wonder why … that to me was the drama farming
