Sorta’ makes you think, if Adm. Adama was forced to choose between losing Lee, or losing Boomer, who would he choose?
lets face it, family ties aside, Lee is just another Human, his duties as CAG could be handled by another Galactica crewmember, Humanity would be down one more person (and with population numbers under 50,000, every life is vital, still, it’s not like they don’t lose pilots in combat with the Toasters…
Boomer, on the other hand, is a unique entity, as a Cylon, she has access to information on Toaster tactics, battle plans, strategies, the inner workings of Toaster society, she’s able to interface with ToasterNet (although after she voluntarily sided with Humanity, and uploaded the virus back to the Raider assault team, i wouldn’t be surprised if ToasterNet blocked and firewalled all her access ports into the network, cutting her off from the groupmind/conciousness/etc…)and she is, as far as we can tell, voluntarily assisting the human race in the battle against the Cylons, she appears to have turned her back on her own “people”, she clearly wants to be reintigrated into the Galactica crew…
still, she is a Cylon, and could theoretically still be carrying sleeper programming, therefore she is a security risk and not to be fully trusted…
there’s also the animosity/hatred Adama still carries for Boomer, due to a BoomerBot attemting to assasinate him
so, if Adama HAD to choose one of them to die, who would he choose, his son, or a millitary asset to the fleet
), not sure what to think, it seems like the “Apollo Loves Dee” plotline was shoved in a few eps back as an afterthought…
