I was going to be really pissed if they killed off Tyrol, as he and Cally are my absolute favorite characters. It helps that I find Tyrol to be astoundingly attractive.
It was nice getting a break from the ‘back on Caprica’ story line. I also didn’t like Crashdown, and I didn’t like him much when he was Boomer’s raptor partner, either.
There’s a specific “put your questions for Ron Moore here” thread in the official SciFi.com forums. As far as I’ve seen, there hasn’t been any explanation for why he hasn’t posted an update in what seems like several yahrens.
The fleet was originally at some point apparently in deep space. Raptors are sent out to several nearby systems.
One of the systems is discovered to contain a “Class-M” planet (to borrow a Trekism"). They come to the conclusion that the planet is Kobol.
Three Raptors are sent to Kobol, only to discover that a Basestar has shown up in the meantime. The Raptors blow up, crash or flee.
The Raptor with Boomer returns to Kobol and destroys the Basestar there. It returns to Galactica and Boomer shoots Adama.
Galactica and the fleet jump, to different coordinates.
Galactica returns to their former location in deep space, only to discover a Basestar there. They make their calculations and jump to the fleet’s coordinates, leaving the Basestar behind.
So, there was a Basestar over Kobol (now destroyed) and a second Basestar at some point in deep space (which may or may not still be there). There was only ever one Basestar at Kobol.
Anyone want to wager on how long it will take until the truth comes out about Crashdown’s death? Just off the top of my head, I thought of the fact that there will probably be an autopsy and it’ll be discovered Crashdown was shot in the back, and the actual bullet will be matched to the weapon that Baltar was holding. I can’t see Tyrol, Cally, and the other woman keeping quiet about this, either. Or, are they banking on the idea that the bodies will be cremated immediately?
There’s what…one qualified M.D. in the fleet? Maybe a few junior MDs and a bunch of field medics. Autopsies are the least of their problems. Quincy ain’t gonna be showin’ up anytime soon.
I don’t think so. Under their current circumstances, it seems enough to produce someone’s dog tags and state that they “died honorably” or some such. Tyrol isn’t going to say anything, or he would have already. Cally’s not going to say anything because she’s ashamed of her inability to carry out the mission, and a direct order. That third crew member seems like a fairly minor guest character we may never see again.
The dog tags are enough, I don’t think they’ll get around to recovering the bodies.
I’m thinking the story is going to be busy enough with other things, they may not revisit this issue for awhile, if ever. If anything,
Ehh…I don’t think any CSI-type stuff will out the Crashdown secret.
First of all, it doesn’t fit the show. Fact of the matter is this is a human drama show. If the secret comes out, it’ll be because a person cracks. Or, more likely, Tyrol feels he needs to use it against Baltar for some reason. Probably to stop him from doing something batshit insane.
That’d be my bet.
Anyway, I just don’t see them putting a lot of forensic effort into a guy who was killed (by the Cylons) when you have four witnesses agreeing how he was killed. And sure, he got shot in the back, but they group WAS in a shoowing escapt from the Cylons.
Oh, and I read in TV guide…
Two Cylon models are going to be revealed…
Any speculation? I’m really starting to suspect Gaeta just because he’s too perfect, he’s too vital, and he’s becoming more and more vital.
Ooh, good point. I think I mentioned it a previous thread…
Because you’re right, that would explain it.
Here’s a fun game we can play…who do we know for sure ISN’T a Cylon?
I’ll open with Helo. No point to the whole Cylon experiment if he’s a Cylon.
I also think that Lee Adama is safe…unless his dad is a Cylon.
I think anyone over a certain age (probably 40+ years) would have been around before the previous war in which the Cylons, presumably, didn’t have the technology to produce fake-humans, otherwise they would have used them. However, that idea goes out of the airlock if the Cylons were capable of speed-growing fake-humans.
Probably…but he could have been a deep-cover agent and, rather than having a chip planted in him, his dueling personalities manifest themselves as Six and Baltar rather than in the dark dreams and depression that Sharon had.
Although I’m just playing Devil’s Advocate here - I’d personally put Baltar at the bottom of the list. Unless they’ve tried to manufacture him as some sort of avatar or something…
If Baltar is a Cylon, then the whole mythos falls apart and the story becomes stupid. There has to be a tragic hero, and Baltar the Nut-job is in place to be just that.
