Neither do they. That was in their past “Cylons on Earth 1.0” life. They were a couple over 2 thousand years before the events of the series.
The Plan showed that 6 - Shelley Godfrey knew how to make 1 - John Cavil hum. There are benefits to being a Cylon
That wasn’t Shelley Godfrey. There were 2 6’s on Galactica in “The Plan”. The 6 that was sleeping with 1 was working undercover as a prostitute. IIRC, Shelley Godfrey was even a little shocked at their relationship.
I only watched the plan once so I’m probably confusing things. I could have sworn it was her though, it looked just like her!
