Battlestar Galactica frakchart [Spoilers]

Fellow Galactica fans, have you too had trouble remembering just who’s fraking whom? So have I. So I put together a helpful chart to keep track (spoilers from all seasons in link).

Men’s names are in blue, women’s in magenta. A line is drawn between any two characters who are known or strongly implied to have had sex (a dotted line indicates that sex is plausible but uncertain). The line is green to indicate uncoerced informed consent, while a red line indicates coercion or a lack of informed consent. All characters are listed by their full name, so far as it’s known, and nicknames in quotes where appropriate. Some groups of minor characters are listed as single entries, where it’s not known who all the individuals were.

A little bored today, eh?

Still, a fine piece of work and just the sort of thing that the internets were invented for :p.

In other words, when Baltar gets the Space Herpes, everybody gets the Space Herpes.

What’s with the dotted line from Adama to Ellen? Apart from when Bill lied to Saul to get him to kill him, I don’t remember any implication of a connection there.

The line’s dotted to reflect the fact that he was probably lying, but I don’t think we can be certain of that.

I did the same kinda thing for Big Love so I could keep track of all the semi-incestuous polygamous relationships. Based on the last couple episodes I think I need to amend it a bit.

You know, had they made Shevon one of Gaius’ assorted whores, that might have made Black Market somewhat worthwhile (beyond the microfact it reveals about Zarek that’s later relevant).

And Hot Dog should have more lines to someone; he did get space herpies, after all.

The other pilots certainly joke about Hot Dog, but were there any other specific women (or men) he’s known to have been with? Likewise, it seems like Kat really should be on there, but I can’t think of anyone for her, either. Did Kat and Hot Dog ever sleep together? That’d at least get her on the chart.

Who was the fellow who was going to out Kat? Was it an ex-BF or was it a relative?

Love this chart.

As she shtupped him before she took her final flight, I’m thinking he was an ex-BF. Kat had her issues, but I don’t think incest was to her taste.

That line between Dee and Billy should be solid - remember she pulls him onto her hospital bed and tells him to shut the privacy curtain at the end of Valley of Darkness?

And possibly the line between Kara and Leoben should be dotted? I don’t think they actually physically slept together - I think he was waiting until she was frakked up/stockholmed enough to go to him “willingly”. (I hate that Leoben.)

Poor Gina. Poor, poor Gina.

No dotted line between Baltar and Gaeta? I guess that’s really only subtextual and doesn’t even have one spoken line like Bill & Ellen, but it’s pretty damn strong subtext.

Wow. If for the sake of argument one assumes a line twixt Gaius and Felix, and assumes the line twixt Bill & Ellen is correct, everyone’s connected. That Caprican clap is having a field day. Racetrack’s gonna have to run the ship.

OK, I didn’t remember that clearly, but it doesn’t surprise me. IIRC, the relationship was primarily a business one, and the fraking might have had something to do with the blackmail… Green line or red? Also, did she ever frak any of the characters already on the chart? It seems likely that she did… A girl who’d give the news camera crews a spread-leg moon probably wouldn’t be shy about the bed, but I can’t just draw a general line leading nowhere in particular.

OK, I definitely don’t remember that, and I would have thought I would have. I identified a lot with Billy, and was paying a lot of attention to the progress of his relationship with Dee. Cite?

Well, she certainly had dreams about the two of them having sex, after the fact, and while Leoben did want her to be “willing”, I think he was wrong enough in the head that that he also wouldn’t have seen a little physical rape to go with the mindrape as a problem, before that point.

I did get the impression, right from the start, that Gaeta’s opinion of Baltar was more than just professional respect, but it looked entirely one-sided to me. I don’t think Baltar swings that way.

Oh, and nobody’s asked yet, but the line between Thorne and Athena is dotted because it’s not clear to me whether he was just starting or just finishing when he had his unfortunate accident where he tripped over Helo and the Chief and hit the bulkhead.

I haven’t seen it since it first aired, but didn’t Cottle imply pretty strongly that it was “after” when he was examining her & patching her up?

Oh, and what’s the justification for the line from Roslin to Adar? I don’t doubt you, I just don’t remember there being any implications beyond friendship.

And I have to admit, when I first saw “Gaeta’s Eight”, I thought “There were eight of them?”

When did Baltar knock boots with Kara?

“Kobol’s Last Gleaming, Part 1”

There’s a flashback scene where they’ve just finished some bit of official business, and start making out. I don’t remember what episode it was, though.

Come to think of it, too, there was also an episode where she’s assigned some arm-candy fellow to go with her to some official function, and he turns out to have been one of her former students. I’ll have to see if I can dig up his name.

And she called him “Lee” in the throes of passion. Which I’m guessing has never happened to Baltar before.

Isn’t that the blind date her friends set her up with from the series finale? She realizes early on that he’s a former student, goes on the date anyway, goes to bed with him, kicks him out immediately afterwards, and then signs up for Adar’s campaign for the presidency.

BTW, in the “Razor” webisodes, young Bill Adama is seen knocking boots with another pilot named “Jaycie McGavin”.

In the scene as aired, they edited it so that Athena had not yet been raped when the cavalry came charging in. In the extended scene on the DVD, the action implies otherwise.

I guess the latter was too ooky for broadcast.

In the notes section of Battlestar Wiki for Racetrack - Margaret Edmondson - Battlestar Wiki - it is claimed that the actors for Helo and Racetrack played their roles as though they had had a sexual relationship in the past. Surely a mention in the Battlestar Wiki warrants a dotted line between those two doesn’t it? Racetrack is too hot not to be getting it on with somebody

OK, that’s good enough for a dotted line connecting her to Helo, though I might have to re-arrange some things to make room for her. I’ll also solidify the line between Thorne and Athena, add Kat and her old partner (who I’d still like to connect to the main graph, but given that I included Gaeta, that’s clearly not a requirement), and add Roslyn’s student, next time I get a chance. Not sure when that’ll be, though.
