Well, I think it’s only appropriate that Nametag wear a nametag.
Of course you don’t have to but it’d be kind of odd, in my opinion. Kind of the point of these things is to meet the people behind the posts.
And, unless there’s a no username using contigent, we’d pretty much know who you are by you’re not giving one up.
Or you could just show up and start chatting with the group as a random bar patron, but then you wouldn’t really get to talk ‘board’ stuff without giving yourself up as a member.
If I’m counting correctly it looks like we’ve got about 25 confirmed and at least 10 more showing interest. I’ll probably give The Chieftan a call some time next week to confirm the reservation again and see if they can maybe increase it to 30 or so, but I’m not too worried about that, like I said, we’ll definitely find room for everyone.
In case anyone else is interested, the following day is the SF Aids Walk. I’m thinking about signing the wifey and I up and just staying at a hotel in the city after the Dopefest.

Well I knew that part, but I don’t want to show in full ceremonial headdress and then find out that 98% of Bay Area dopers are actually a tightly knit group of 43 year old plumbers from Cleveland all named Edgar. Would my face be red or what?

Who was the doper who outsourced his body to Pittsburgh so that some guy would breathe for him and is he still around (the doper, not the contractor in Pittsburgh)? I tried searching for “pittsburgh breathing” but I didn’t find that thread? Was he from the bay area?
Edit: It was “Homer” and the last post I could find by him was this gem, but a rather strange note to go out on. That was in 2004.
