There was a thread - How much of a surprise were the election results?
It was started in the pit. It was moved to elections because OMG, at some points it was becoming too nice.
Which I think is bull malarky for at least two reasons. First of all, who ever got in the last “fuck you” of sorts wins. Then, perhaps someone else comes along, doesn’t notice it aint in the pit no more and then breaks some rules. And again, OMG, some folks weren’t actually foaming at the mouth (kinda the inverse of no fighting in the war room I suppose).
And to me the optics (gotta use that new catch phrase) look bad. The move happened two hours after somebody reamed the democratic party AND the liberals and the liberals HERE for not being able to see the forest for the trees.
I will admit to not visiting the Pit very much but other than a few F-bombs that has to be one of the dullest ones I’ve seen. The move was probably well served beyond being requested just to maintain the standards of low standards some of us expect in that forum.
Okay, if the OP wanted it moved…then it needed to be moved…and it didn’t have near enough asshole for the PIT.
But what about when this happens again and it gets nasty fast? Is it going to be moved? Or shut down? Or left in the pit?
Seems like a can of worms no matter what you do there (though my inclination would still be to leave in the pit…barring something like some thread about someone’s mother dying of cancer sorta thing).
I guess you guys can work that conundrum out.
PS. Might help to announce WHY it was moved when doing so.
