What two teams do you want to see play?
Be realistic,no picking Central Michigan against Kentucky. Keep to the teams currently ranked in the top thirty.
What two teams do you think will play?
I want to see Michigan vs Boise State or Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State.
Well I think the realistic options are Alabama/LSU, Stanford, Wisconsin, and Oklahoma. If 2 of those are unbeaten, I don’t think there’s any way that Boise gets in. I’d give Clemson and OK State slim outside chances.
Michigan? Call me back when they play somebody.
Stanford is going to have its hands full with a resurgent Oregon offense.
I guess if I had to pick the two teams today, I would like to see LSU-Oklahoma.
There is no love lost between Stoops and Miles. checking the final coaches poll (its public!) that Miles and Stoops both undervalue each others team compared to the other coaches.
this is the Matchup I want to see: Ga Tech vs Stanford.
The two teams with a somewhat realistic chance that I’d like to see are Boise St. and Georgia Tech. Wouldn’t that be a fun game to watch? I wouldn’t even care who wins. Unfortunately, the rest of college football would have to implode for that kind of match-up.
I’d like to see LSU vs the winner of Stanford vs Oregon. LSU’s defense hits hard and I like their rb Ware. I love watching Oregon, though I haven’t heard the status of LaMichael James, but should he be healthy by the end of the season, a rematch of the game in Dallas would be fun. No matter, though, I’m pretty sure that LSU in yet another BCS CG at the Superdome is a foregone conclusion as to who will win the title.
Match-ups remaining (or potentially remaining) between current unbeaten teams:
LSU-Alabama
Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State
Kansas St vs OU-OSU winner (Big XII CG)
Wisconsin vs Illinois
Michigan vs WI-IL winner (B1G CG)
Clemson vs GT (ACC CG)
Other noteworthy games (or possible games) between highly ranked teams:
Stanford vs Oregon, as mentioned above
LSU vs Arkansas
LSU/Alabama/Arkansas vs South Carolina (SEC CG)
It’s going to be the winner of Alabama/LSU vs whoever. Doesn’t really matter. The SEC Champion is the real National Champion no matter what happens in the BCS game…really just a coronation ceremony.
Michigan has no defense. They will not be there at the end. They have had a very east schedule and barely got through it.
Wisconsin looks pretty tough.
I think that one of the reasons there is so much backlash against the BCS is because people put too much emphasis on the polls/rankings too early in the season. Wake me up after Week 8 before we even start talking about this.
Listen…I hate the SEC at least as much as the next guy, but how the hell would that even happen? LSU loses to Alabama, Alabama loses to Auburn then loses the SEC Championship Game to…South Carolina? :dubious: Only scenerio I see is the winner of the matchup losing once, then losing the SEC Championship game. I don’t think so.
Michigan?? That’s just slightly more likely than Central Michigan making it.
LSU-Oklahoma is the most probable. Bama, Ok State, 'sconsin and Stanford have a shot if either
of them stumble. But LSU looks like the national champ to me. Of course, Miles always has the ability to mismanage the clock in a critical situation, so there is some hope for others.
With all due respect to the SEC fans here, I seriously enjoy seeing the mighty take a tumble, last shall be first and the first shall be last. So my dream scenario is a BCSCG between LSU and somebody else (probably Oklahoma, although Wisconsin or Stanfurd would be fun) – there has to be an SEC team in the game, so they don’t spend all off-season whining about how they were unfairly deprived of their rightful place.
And then the game is decided by a last minute Les Miles brain fart. I would laugh for 9 months straight.
Anyone care to update their predictions after a few weeks have gone by?
Given all Great Conference Musical Chairs, I think this would be a great year for Boise St to finally be allowed to play in the BCS championship game against the SEC champ. Losing by a score somewhere in the range of 50-3 would hopefully silence all their jibber-jabber.
