Wow. I would really like to know the backstory on that one.
It sounds like the guy is gunning his engine.
He was. I love the fact that the officer kept his cool throughout. Telling dude “the conversation is over, complain to whomever you wish, have a better day, be careful pulling out”.
And then after the wreck, he seems pretty calm still, rightfully calling for an ambulance just in case, and telling the moron to shut his car off.
After rewatching a couple of times, and listening carefully to the voice of the perpetrator, I suspect he was elderly. What a bad way to go though!
OMG…I was NOT prepared for that! That scared the crap out of me! That is by far the calmest cop on the planet. It says the video was uploaded from a cellphone…whose?
That just means someone used their cellphone to upload to YouTube. I know I’ve seen it before somewhere with an explanatory news article, but can’t seem to find it.
Ah yes, here we go - I had more success adding in the car’s model. It happened in a Chicago suburb, Buffalo Grove.
Missed the edit window:
And a followup when they released the video to the public.
Yeah - I fully expected him to pull out and get creamed by a semi or something, not that…
Joe
Maybe he was listening to that dance song from 8 years ago or so… and it was on the part ‘reverse reverse!’ It’s not his fault!
It’s a Toyota – explains everything.
According to the Daily Herald article, cited below, the driver is aged 70.
70? Elderly? It’s all relative.
