Bear left MMP

Bedtime blurf.

I was cleaning the house because we might have RT’s children for the weekend. I got lightheaded and had to stop, though. All I have left is mopping the kitchen and cleaning out the fridge. Surely they won’t mind if I don’t get to it.

That would piss off Jack Aubrey.

Dude, you flirt with death, even if she passes secret spy messages, like, “The Elephant Is Glazed”.

Post a “No sharks allowed” sign?
I test drove a Hyundai Elantra and Kia Forte and Soul cars this afternoon . Unless they can make me a sweet deal, the Elantra is out. Saturday, I test drive Nissans.

Wrapped up the party favors for the sweet four year old in the studio tonight. I suggested that they go on chocolate frosted cupcakes. : )

Hitting the Lao festival tomorrow evening at the local temple for some good music and fantastic food, RenFair Sunday and a cookout at my niece’s house Monday. I’ll have to go back to irk to get some rest.

I had some of the most delicious watermelon I’ve had in a long time today. As you might have guessed, I’m in summer eating mode already. I got a quarter of a big, seeded watermelon at the Farmer’s Market store the yesterday and boy was that ever nice and sweet! I’ve decided that the seedless ones just don’t have any taste to them, for some reason, because most of the seedless ones I’ve had, and that includes home-grown ones, have just tasted like nothing to me. On the other hand, the old seeded ones are almost always tasty and sweet. I’ll probably give the seedless ones another shot, but really, I don’t want to throw good money away for something that I don’t like!

Some in NM got rain, heavy thunderstorms and some hail too today. That was in the eastern part of the state. Hopefully ABQ will get some tomorrow, it’s in the forecast at least.

FCM, that’s an intriguing proposal! I’m not certain I could swing it, but maybe; it would certainly be exciting! Great suggestion.

I think you might be right about the watermelon, tarra. Seeded ones seem to have actual flavor. I’m hoping the ones we planted have seeds…

Cruise sounds intriguing, FCM.

I’m so excited… We’re planning my Mom’s 90th and it looks like we’ll get all the cousins together and several of my cousins’ kids who live farther away. My Mom is going to be thrilled.

As for the OP: my nephew and I were out walking the other night and saw a racoon wandering across the street, calm as can be. He (she?) crossed a street, took a detour through some shrubs, climbed the stairs onto a porch, looked briefly inside the house (the front door was open, but the storm door was shut), and then decided to keep moving.

I’ve also seen deer on the front lawn of a house in our neighborhood. It was near a spot where it could easily get to the woods, but still freaked me out a bit.

Blurf. I am very tired today. Had a lovely night out with the guys and girls from the department, I didn’t get home until just after midnight so I am feeling the effects of lack of sleep today. Fortunately I have a short day and not too much work to finish off so I think I’ll last until hometime.

I’ve finished my handover notes and sent them off to the girl who’s taking over, she can have a look and tell me if there’s anything else she needs to know about. Of course, she’s on a term-time contract and won’t be here next week anyway so it’s all a bit silly.

Tonight I have to get petrol for the car as the warning light’s on and that means we’re running on fumes, then do a quick grocery run for weekend food, and hopefully fit in a half-hour workout while someone else cooks dinner for me. After that, movies and cocktails!

Spiday, I think I’ll pass on the sunken yacht, thanks anyway! :stuck_out_tongue: I would love to know why that happened so fast. Someone is probably going to lose a job over this, ya think?

It’s laundry day, because tomorrow is deck-painting day. We got some of that super-special protect-your-deck paint and since tomorrow promises to be one of the last coolish days for a while, sans rain, I’ve got to get it done. Plus **FCD **can help keep Higgs off the deck while it dries. Since I’m the better of us doing that kind of painting, I’ve forbidden him from helping.

It’s also finish-the-glazing day. I have one piece to decorate and two that are just being glazed in a mottled green finish. And there are a couple of pieces that need clear glaze over their decoration. Then I can leave everything out to dry for a couple of days before I finish loading the kiln and fire it up. I learned the hard way that you want to be sure everything is absolutely bone dry before firing - things will explode!

Daughter it teaching sex-ed to 7th graders this week and she said the class is a combination of gigglers and kids whose parents have already taught them this stuff, so they’re bored. **FCD **called and left her a voicemail as a concerned parent asking about safe sex, including something about a trapeze, a goat, and hamsters. She played it for her team and everyone had a good laugh. I’m married to a major-league goof.

So a busy couple of days ahead. Good times!

Happy Firday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis <snerk> 69! <snerk> Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 95 for the day. High temps will be 90s all weekend. Definitely Memorial Day weekend weather. Cee-mint pond here we come!

Herbs and gt I agree about seeded watermelons. They just taste better. I have a feelin’ watermelon season will be short this year. Plantin’ was later than usual due to a very wet and cold early Spring. I was hopin’ for some local watermelon this weekend, but alas, not yet.

Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. On the upside, ‘tis Firday and TPTB sent an email informin’ us that we can call it a day at two p.m. WOOHOO!!! I soooooooooo foresee that happenin’.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, off to work.

Showered, dressed, first load in the washer, and I’m breakfasting. Movin’ right along!

Higher transit fees. Sharks aren’t very good with money management, and rarely have enough cash for the toll.

Sean, you crack me up!!

I saw that as ‘breastfeeding’. I need more coffee. Probably a nap, too.

**Ace **- yeah, I’m almost 30 years past that phase of my life.

We’re trying to figure out how to get our printer to communicate wireless with our laptop. It works great in the wired mode, but wirelessly, not so much. ugh.

First load of clothes on the line, second in the washer. Woohoo!

Wireless printing… ugh! It’s either fabulous or irritating. Apple’s Bonjour makes it easier, but still it’s never foolproof.

The sometimes non-obvious problem is most home printers can have either a wired or a wireless LAN connection. Not both. I’ve known some people who buy a cheap wireless printer specifically for their laptops, ipads, etc.

Again, wireless printing…UGH!

I should rather paint below the waterline, “This ship carries no Swampbears”.

**gotti **- I think I may have figured out that the problem was in the router - it wasn’t seeing the printer. Now it is, so when **FCD **gets back from his erranding, he’s going to try, again, to get connected.

And on that note, I think I’ll go play with glaze. All the laundry for today is on the line and I’ll be making a lemon meringue pie later when the eggs come to room temp, so in the meantime, I’ll play in my studio.

Happy Firday!

It is a beautiful day, sunny, breezy, cool
and of course the idiots have the A/C on.

The breeze coming in my bedroom window is absolutely wonderful.

My oil has been changed, my tires have been rotated, I had a McBreakfast and now I am home.
I’m thinking about doing a load of laundry but if I get down there and see clothes in the washer and dryer it will set me to cussing and nobody should have to cuss on such a pretty day. Bad enough to get up this am and see a big ass vacuum cleaner in a box sitting on the couch. Just another wtf moment. Like why would anybody put a vacuum cleaner on the couch and why would people buy things for a house they don’t have yet. Then you have to move things twice.

But hey, I’m the crazy one so what do I know?

One of the dog dishes I made got a crack in the bottom. Dammit. I’m hoping that the glaze will seal it. The other one seems to be OK, so I’ll give that one to my daughter, unless it cracks in the kiln.

Meanwhile, I’ve decorated the last pot in random pastel shapes. Once the underglaze is completely dry, I’ll put clear glaze on it and the other couple of pieces that are standing by. Getting closer to firing. Yay!

I forgot to say I saved 90 cents on each gallon of gas today.
I thought I was going to get 30 or maybe 40 cents off each gallon.
I really like this Safeway home delivery deal. Not only am I getting some good sale prices, they bring the food to the door and I get points towards saving on gas.
