My brother’s shoulder surgery went well. He had a gout-like reaction to the anesthesia, but that is clearing itself up. He will have to go to physical therapy because he had some trouble walking, but the shoulder itself is fine so that’s good news.

Fairly busy irk day. How desperate or chintzy do you have to be to haggle at a thrift store???
Aside from deheathenating tomorrow, most of my plans for the next two days involve sleep or the Atari Flashback. Some DVRed TV viewing will probably also happen, and must do a little defilthifying of the mini-cave at some point.
I’ve seem people haggle at Dollar Tree.

Sah-dog woke me as he needed to go out. I had fallen asleep without opening my window and once I woke up I was too hot to go back to sleep. So now I’m awake, I hope not for long.

That’s pretty much a prediction any given day when it’s hawt. We always have that chance of a “pop up” or “popcorn” tstorm mid-afternoon/early evenin’. Today’s chance is thirty percent. Anywho, some cee-mint pond time shall be enjoyed this afternoon.

**FCD **is off to roll with the thunder. I’ve emptied the dishwasher and pulled out enough jars for jammin’ later today. Breakfast is some of the slightly over-done nanner-nut muffins I had in the freezer, some with bits of cupcake paper still attached.
In a couple of hours, I’ll go out and put a second coat on the deck. When that mess is cleaned up, I’m going to make 2 batches of strawberry jam - yield should be between 14 and 16 half-pint jars. And when that is cleaned up, I’ll quit for the day. No clue what we’ll do tomorrow.

I’m up for reals this time. I think that I’d still be sleeping if Sah-dog hadn’t needed to go out again. He seems to be uncomfortable today. I’ve been giving him some aspirin everyday lately. I don’t like giving it to him everyday but it does seem to help. He’s prone to shar-pei fever and the treatment is half an aspirin.
It’s a cool sunny 57 now with a projected high of 81. I would be comfortable at 81 but I know the AC will be turned on today.
Nothing on the agenda today except irk irk and more irk. I may try to get in a load of laundry.
Second coat is on the deck, and it was a messy chore. I managed to drop the paintbrush in the bucket - ick! Luckily, it didn’t sink immediately, so I retrieved it and washed it off. In about 4 hours, I need to go out with a cup and a brush, filling in the screwholes that I didn’t get with the roller. Then it has to sit for 2-3 days without traffic so it can cure. That means I can’t hang out laundry till Thursday, but we’re promised rain on Tues and Weds, so that works.
I’m taking a bit of a break before I start on the jam. I need to wash the jars and get the water boiling. Plus I’ll measure out the sugar ahead of time so that will be ready. When doing this alone, you need to be all organized and stuff.
**sari **- I’m leaving the house open as long as I can. Unfortunately, *someone *in this house is a wuss about the temperature - he likes it cooler than I do. It amazes me that even after 30 years, he’ll ask “Aren’t you hot???” I have yet to hear him say that he’s hot and he wants to close the house and turn on the air. I’m not sure what the game is, but I quit playing - he’s an adult, right? sheesh. 
The fishing gods were fucking with me today. I caught 2 bluegills and a largemouth bass, all of them too little to keep. To add insult to injury, the bass was flopping around on the ground while I tried to take a picture, and he knocked my nightcrawlers into the lake, this ending this morning’s excursion. :mad: and :smack:
Smokefest will commence shortly. I have a <snerk> big butt <snerk>, corned beef I want to pastramicize, and 3 lbs of sausage as the guests of honor.
If I wanna have an affair, today is the day. Both the Indy 500 and the NASCAR race will be on. VWife is already on the couch with her eyes glazed over, and she’ll never know I was gone.
Well, must light the fahr fer smokin’, then go get coma girl some drugs, and a haircut for me. Mebbe I can work a little sumthin-sumthin into all that for good measure. ;)
BBBobbio, I hear the A&E Motel is a real hot spot. And it’s conveniently located on Great Mills Road! In fact, when I had grand jury duty, it was mentioned more than once as the scene of the crime.
