First coat is done, mostly. I need to do the step risers with a brush, but I can catch that before I do the second coat. I’ll do the second coat tomorrow morning while it’s cool and the deck is shaded - I think I need to lay it on lots thicker, but I’ve got tons left, so no prob. For now, I just need to keep Higgs inside for about 3 more hours - I don’t want a painted puppeh.
Once I rest up a bit then have lunch, I’m going to clean 6 quarts of strawberries - you read that right! Try not to envy me.
Berries are done. I’ve got 2 containers of mashed berries for jammin’ tomorrow and 2 containers of sliced berries for snacking or whatever. **FCD **is crashed on the couch - his bike ride this morning turned out to be a volunteer session for a pre-Rolling Thunder event and he spent several hours hauling ice and water to various booths, so he’s tahred.
I don’t foresee much being accomplished this afternoon.
I just had a long-overdue shower, and I feel human again! Supper will be burgers because it’s quick and easy, with lemon meringue pie for dessert because we didn’t inhale it all yesterday, believe it or not.
It’s a beautiful day, but a boring day.
Other than somebody down the street is having a big party and cars parked all over the neighborhood. I’m watching all the cars going up and down the street looking for a place to park. Some people aren’t going to be happy when they come home and have no place to park.
And… the loud music starts.
I may have to close my window.
Yard is done and going to a friend’s 'Q tonite. Then I’ll smoke tomorrow. Couldn’t find a brisket I likes so St Louis ribs, beef shortribs, yardbird and I’ll grill some ribeyes. St Bernardus is keeping me company and has given his blessing we be fat n happy all weekend.
Oh yeah, everyone on our street signed up for the Boy Scouts to put new flags in our yard each holiday. Looks real nice out there now.
The great thing about havin’ an afternoon cee-mint pond soiree is that when it’s late afternoon everybody leaves. A good time was had by all. The foods were fantastic, all of ‘em. Everybody et good, had a few drinks, had some good laughs, and generally enjoyed loungin’ around the cee-mint pond on a perfect afternoon to do so.
Everything is all cleanded up except for us. OYKW wants a whirlpool bath. I may have one as well. We can’t have one together, however. The tub ain’t THAT big.
We went to the flea market and miniature golfing (RT won) and now we’re home and watching a movie. Ok, the kids and I are watching and RT is snoozing off and on.
I was just thinking about that.
After Perseus killed the Gorgon, he carried her head around in a sack. Somebody piss him of at a bar, he puts his shades on and whips out the head with the hair of snakes.
Suddenly the guy who pissed him off is stone cold sober, and everyone else is buying Perseus drinks.
Why the hell isn’t Libya teselata called “the Perseus crab”? That is a hell of a lot classier than “Pom Pom crab”.
I forgot:
“In the Red Sea, Triactis producta is reported to be one of the most venomous of sea anemones. The symptoms of stings to bare skin include pain and swelling. In one reported case, these lasted for several weeks and were accompanied by a pigmented, blistered lesion and prolonged skin sensitivity. The toxic agent was found to be very stable and resistant to chemicals and heat treatment.”
Between the loud music and somebody mowing their lawn I had to close my window.
Way too much noise when I am trying to irk.
Hopefully I’ll be able to open it again soon.
Looks like some of the people are leaving the party down the street.
The side street has deep ditches on both sides, it’s kind of interesting watching people trying to get into their cars that are half tilted into the ditch. I don’t know how the woman in heels did it. In one case the driver had to run around and close the passenger door. The smart thing to do would be for the driver pull out onto flat ground and then let the passenger get in. From the way some of them are walking I’m not sure any of them should be driving. Almost had one collision already. I have no idea why everybody is trying to back out of the side street rather than just drive down and out the other side.
Dinner was a ham and cheese sandwich, some deviled egg potato salad and a piece of cinnamon bun.
Life is so exciting when you live on the edge.
I think the crabs look like candy canes.
I went to :eek:Wally World:eek: and bought new boots. Chicken is marinating. Beerverages and hockey going on.
A bunch of those should follow Boofae’s Sri Lanken spiders around, and cheer, “Rah! Rah! Ree! Poke 'em in the knee! Rah! Rah! Rass! Poke 'em on the other knee!”
