Howdy y’all. Finally the weekend is here. I just got back from the grocery store but need to go back at some point for watermelon thanks to you all.
I had a nice surprise at irk today. I received a Certificate of Recognition from the Region for my mad Credit Card handling skills. It not even worth the paper it’s printed on but it’s the thought that counts I guess.
I slipped out of irk around 2 pm. It is just so quiet here without hubby. I am beginning to miss him. He will head home tomorrow after graduation but will probably not make it home until Sunday.
So the grocery store was buzzing with tons of peeps stocking up for the holiday weekend. I got in and out as quick as I could. Bought enough food for me and Lucky Louie for a few days and it was over $200. Gonna have to quit eating.
I will probably run back for a watermelon though. I hope all have a wonderful long weekend and be safe.

I think I’m going to plop my butt into my recliner for the evening. MWAH!!

I will be assuming the sleep position shortly. Since it’s a long weekend and I’m still a 3rd grader at heart, I will be outside on the back porch the next few nights.
**FCD **is on his way to a pre-Rolling Thunder bike ride. I’m going to paint the clothesline deck today, I hope. Other than that, who knows? Just another day in paradise.

In keepin’ with the wild critter encounters theme, I have a wild critter story. Ok, not exactly a wild critter encountered in nature, but a wild critter encounter nonetheless. I found a lizard in the study. I bravely scooped him/her (who knows!) up and put him/her out on da back porch to hang with the other lizards or do whatever it is lizards do. A wild critter encounter at six-thirty in the a.m. even!
Yeah, I live such an excitatin’ life.
Soonish I shall put chikin laigs in the smoker for this afternoon’s big eats time. People will start showin’ up around elevinish. I also need to make a run over to the church house to get ice. I’ve been told to please come get ice from there as Hoshi (that’s the name of the ice machine) is really full and needs to be emptied out somewhat. Heck, one could empty the thing this mornin’ and tomorrow mornin’ it would look like no one ever got ice. It makes a lot of ice quick!
For now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then chikin smokin’, purtification, ice gettin’ and so forth must commence!

I tried to get back in bed for a little snooze, but Higgs had to start barking like the idiot that she is. So I’m dressed in grubbies and about to sweep off the deck, mix up the paint, and get started. Rah.
Blurf. Got up 2 hours later than I intended. Let’s see if I can get work done this weekend.
Up and caffeinated. Sounds like they are [del]adding shark repellant[/del]chlorinating the pool. Gordie will have the Boxer Twin freakout sometime in the next 30 minutes. I should pull out some chicken to marinate.

doggio innerestin’ly enough, Mr./Ms. Lizard was only a couple feet from the bathroom when I caught him/her. You might be onto sump’n.
Chikin laigs are in the smoker, I have brekkied and am all purtified. Eventually I shall go procure ice. Such is the fast paced life I lead.

It’s a beautiful day, the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are chirping. It’s a nice 63 degrees with a projected high of 75. It can’t get much better than this.
Nothing special on the agenda today.
My friend and I postponed the birthday celebration until after I have my procedure. I didn’t want to disappoint her but it was her idea, so that worked out well.
**Doggio ** there are worse things than watching paint dry. My ex used to watch fishing shows. Two men sitting in a boat. One says, ‘they sure aren’t biting today’. The other, ‘nope’. Watching paint dry would have been a step up.
