Bears Fans

Fuck You. Your team beat the Saints and a New Orleans native gave us payback by beating your team’s ass tonight. I hope you have nightmares tonight about choking on Payton Manning’s jizz.

I think you’re painting with a pretty big brush there, sport.

I’m a Chicago native and lifelong Bears fan and I don’t know ANYONE who would condone those signs. Please to place the blame squarely on the asshole individuals who made and displayed them only.

From the link provided by the OP (who apprently does not actually read the links he provides):

So we already have evidence that people in Chicago rejected the crudity of one overzealous fan, but someone needs to start up a thread to condemn all Bears fans on the off chance that some of them might be sufficiently stupid (being sports fans) to embrace that sort of crude cheering? That would seem to put the OP into the same catgory of the fan whose actions the OP deplores.

A hearty fuck you right back to the OP only. I know not to tar New Orleans fans with the same broad brush of being that blind. If the whole goddamned stadium was chanting that you’d have a point.

Hey Long Road. Take the long road to hell, you douchebag. I’m as pissed off as anyone about the Bears fucking this game up, the douche in the photo was rejected by real Bear fans, as he should be.

And just for good measure, FUCK YOU.

Don’t you mean Bears fan?

Anyone with such ignorance and insolence won’t read your OP anyway. If you want to create a legitamate Super Bowl rant, flame Grossman for costing his team the biggest game of their careers.

Whew, that’s as ugly of a sentiment as I’d ever want to see expressed by a fan yet one I’d fully expect some thankfully small percentage of most every team’s fan base would possibly voice. No one team owns all the rights to overly fanatic, offensive behavior by it’s supporters. That’s proven time and time again, year after year. These idiots are pretty evenly distributed far and wide. Just like the soccer dads that get in a fight with another parent or with a coach or ref, they’re thankfully rare but do exist and can be found most any place.

Ah, geez, and here I was thinking this thread was about Bears’ fans annoying tendency to drag the '85 Bears into any conversation, no matter the topic.

It was twenty years ago, people! Live in the now!

Funny you should say that. I live in the UK, but wasn’t there something about the Bears playing a Fridge…

The snopes link shows two seperate posters held by different people. So fans it is.

Can someone summarize the link for me? Snopes is blocked from work.

There is one photo of a guy with a "bear head’ hat holding a large poster with letters about 6 - 7 inches high with strokes of about 1 1/2 inches wide
BEARS
FINISHING
WHAT
KATRINA
STARTED

That poster is later shown hanging from a railing.

There is a separate photo of a guy holding smaller poster with letters about 3 - 5 inches high, drawn with a wide magic marker
IN THE FLOOD
NOAH SAVED THE BEARS
NOT THE
[drawing of a Saints helmet]

I’m not sure that I find the second poster all that offensive, YMMV.

tomndebb,
Thanks.

There are idiots in all markets. Let’s face it: most people are idiots. Period.

This Super Bowl was particularly disappointing, because in the absence of really caring who wins, I like to root against any mid-western dufuses. Imagine my disappoint with Super Bowl 41!
