I think I read before that Gonzo said he was in his 60s. Am I mixing it up with someone?
As you age you lose neuroplasticity. At some point you really can’t adapt to new ideas. You’re going to be set in any ways you have.
So in that thread, what he basically did was say the same thing over and over, it didn’t change at all, he didn’t evaluate what was said, didn’t really consider anything. Maybe he can’t.
I don’t mean that as an insult - it just becomes in some cases pointless to argue with someone who’s lost the ability to be introspective.
If I’m mixing him up with someone and he’s actually 35… well then yeah…
Edit: I don’t mean to say there’s a magic barrier for everyone at age X. Some people can still learn new things and challenge their ideas into a late age… but it certainly becomes harder.
Well, I’m touched that you feel sad for me that I’m so nasty. I’m sad for you that you are so stupid. And from a parity perspective you probably do somewhat hold the moral high ground…after all, I don’t have to be nasty while you can’t do anything about being so stupid. You COULD work on your ignorance…but again, your sheer stupidity may limit to what extent you are capable of learning new things.
As for my anger…trust me on this, you aren’t worthy of my anger. Annoyance sometimes…derision almost constantly…damage due to the rolling of eyes, certainly…but anger? 
As to my need to pit you for this…well, I felt your last post linked in the OP thread really was beyond the pale of stupidity, and since I didn’t want to get banned I figured I’d just bring it here. You do realize that’s what the Pit is for, right?

Reminds me of an anecdote I once heard from a friend of a friend. FOAF’s coworker used the phrase “I jewed him down.” FOAF, a Jew, was quite offended and told her coworker so. Her coworker persistently misinterpreted her offense as an attack that it wasn’t a real phrase. She finally pulled out a dictionary and found the phrase in it.
“SEE!? I told you it’s a real phrase!” At which point FOAF pointed out the word “pejorative” at the end of the entry. Woman still didn’t get it.
And I do believe the term ‘pejorative’ was explained several times to The Gonz in that thread…and like your cow-orker The Gonz was unmoved and militantly failed to comprehend the term, or why his usage could possibly be construed to be…um, some word he didn’t understand.
I can feel for jayjay needing a drink after that…it was pages and pages of nearly every 'doper, regardless of stance or position on this board trying in vain to beat the idea through several meters of solid rock that constitutes The Gonz’s cranial region.
There are very few unifying things on this board, but I think The Gonz might just be one of them. The feelings about gonzo seem nearly unanimous (leaving aside Hentor, though in truth he probably doesn’t give a flying fuck about gonzo and just came in here to beat on me) among 'dopers…something that is seemingly impossible given how contentious and contrary we all are towards each other and towards nearly every topic under discussion.

I’m pretty sure gonzomax was the poster who argued ad nauseam that Brazillians are hispanic, even in the face of overwhelming proof that they’re not. If I’m thinking of someone else, I apologize. If not, I completely agree with the OP.
I’m thinking more Long Island Iced Tea. The situation requires a serious concentration of proof.
