Because you have the technology does NOT make it ok to use it, asshole.

Their photos were posted on a website, no one’s mocking them to their face. And the reason people are laughing is because they look funny and/or stupid! Really, it’s very simple. Yeah, if you dress like this or this or this or THIS, yes I will laugh at you, and I don’t believe you if you don’t find those “fashions” funny.

Dude, let’s see YOUR picture.

I feel that I have some unique expertise to offer in this thread, as I have been teased/mocked, but have also, separately, been punched in the face.

Being teased/mocked is definitely not equivalent to being punched in the face.

That is all.

OK: Pic

Dude, you were stoned in that picture.

BTW, here’s mine. (It’s over a year old, and my hair’s a big longer – I’m going to try a different color this time, too) Make fun of it all you want.

-Guin, who still lives at home, and is still unemployed. (At least I can be original)

And Stoid, next thing you’ll be telling us that we shouldn’t do “Best and Worst Dressed” lists for celebrities. (I’m guessing she WILL say that)

We need a new pic, Guin. A year is a long time.

If my wang was that tiny, I wouldn’t post it on here. (Don’t even say you’re a grower, that pic is obviously rock hard)

George Carlin was the greatest standup comedian of all time, bar none. He’s why I became a comedian for a few years. (Gasp! WHA??? And so begins the snark. I said I am a tough audience, not that I don’t have a sense of humor. And for the record, I competed in a citywide competition in Los Angeles, for muscular dystrophy I think, and out of 110 entrants I placed 11th. So I feel pretty good about that. My competition night was playing to a packed house at the Improv on Melrose, and (alongside the night my ex asked me to marry him - differnt life areas) it was the single greatest night of my life. I have very bad video of it stashed away, I will digitize and upload it one of these days when I have some time.) And I don’t ever recall him attacking a private individual minding their own business because of their appearance. So why you feel this proves anything I can’t imagine.

Absolutely.

Then you don’t understand the meaning of the term. Have I been the target of ridicule? OF course! I said that earlier in the thread, remember? And I specifically noted that if my unpleasant experiences awakened me to how fucked up it is to mock people, then it was worth it.

So the “voila!” tone of your post escapes me. There’s nothing new here, and certainly nothing that undermines my point at all.

And I find it amazing that you believe your lack of reply to the central question is going unnoticed.

I’ll be happy to respond to you when you actually respond to me, but you’ve made it very clear you have no answer so you will keep bobbing and weaving.

Thanks for participating.

I don’t. I find them stupid, weird, unattractive, silly, unfortunate, tasteless. But not a single one makes me feel any urge to laugh, and that’s how I define funny.

I’m going to pretend your question is serious, because others will probably ask, and simply say that the only difference is my hair.
BTW, I can believe Stoid when she says she doesn’t find them funny. Not everyone likes the same thing. However, her problem is she thinks she should be the Grand High Judge of what IS funny, or what IS proper to laugh at.

Me too, actually, and the face punch was pretty intense in the moment (especially since it came from WAY out of left field from an absolute stranger walking by me on the street. Split my lip!) but it was no big deal two weeks later.

The ridicule I received as a kid and a young woman (when I was much slimmer than I am now but no one has been rude to me in forever… i have a whole other take on that for a different day) was much worse over the long haul. Being punched in the face didn’t attack me as a person and make me feel like I was less than, it just scared me and hurt for a while.

So let’s see it, sister.

Presumably another thing that will be different is that you will have burned that dress by now. The belted look is . . . not good for you there Guinster.

A pic in a skimpy two-piece is probably the best way to go here.

Also, maybe you should look at the camera. Crazy, I know, but give 'er a go.

You’re hawt enough that I don’t care that you’re a red-headed bit- excuse me, brunette bitch living with her mom.

That is an untruth.

I think anyone can laugh at anything, and I’ve been bitched at quie recently for that right here. I just don’t think we should make it a point to select people to ridicule personally, either to their face, or by posting them on the internet for everyone to laugh at.

Seriously, those of you who find it impossible to differentiate between publicly humiliating people and privately laughing at another’s expense without them knowing about it need to PAY ATTENTION. They are different. I am very much against the first, because it is MEAN. CRUEL. UNKIND. UGLY. UNNECESSARY. SMALL. PETTY. NASTY. AND SOUL SUCKING.

THe second isn’t great, but it’s human nature acted out in an acceptable way that isn’t MEAN NASTY CRUEL UNNECESSARY AND PETTY.

I’m against cruelty and meanness. Do you really hope to sell the idea that theres something wrong with that? Or tell me out one side of your mouth that I’m wrong to speak against cruelty and meanness, while out the other side of your mouth you’re telling me that cruelty and meanness are no big deal? Seriously? Hello?

Well, that’s because you like to make things up to say about me.

It’s kinda flattering, tho.

Oy vey ist mir! Give it a rest, Stoid!

YOUR PAIN IS SO MUCH GREATER THAN MY PAIN, Stoid! Truly, I am overwhelmed.
