Beckdawrek is bad, bad, bad and nearly dies. (Or how a Doper saved my life)

“No, honey, the ‘Dope’ is that special place I go to where all the people love me and I’m happy and free and … now why are you looking at me like that?”

What an amazing story. And so glad you are ok! Great job Drop.

“Honeeeeey? WHERE is my SUPER SUIT???”

I am curious, dropzone, who did you call?

He will answer, I’m sure.
He won’t tell this, But y’all gotta know he is a miracle worker finding things on the internet. I’ve been amazed more than once of the stuff he’s uncovered.

Ghostbusters!

Dammit! I can’t stop doing that!

She lives near that truck explosion. News reports mentioned the town, Camden. Wikipedia sez that Camden is in Ouachita County. Google gave the number of the Ouachita County Sheriff’s Department. I pushed 1 (IIRC) for the dispatcher. Easy peasy and nothing any longtime Doper doesn’t know how to do.

Assuming somebody there knew her family wasn’t as much a hunch as it was experience with small towns.

All it requires is an understanding of the fundamental interconnectedness of all things. There are only so many things and fewer people.

I am wondering what the conversation between the operator and dropzone was like.

“Hello, operator - I am concerned about a friend of mine. We were chatting online, and she didn’t respond to my repeated demands for a cite. I don’t know her name, but she lives near you, things explode in her vicinity, and she is concerned that her cat will eat her.”

Operator: “Oh, that’s Beckdawrek! We’ll send someone right over.”

Regards,
Shodan

That’s unsurprisingly accurate.

The thing is, I live at the far end of the county. At least 30min. away. They had the good sense to call my Sons house which is closer to me.(10mi) My DIL was home. Which was, not at least, serendipity. I thought I had called her. But, no, it was all set in motion by Dropzones call. I was fixin’ to go to the bright light at the end of a long corridor. But, I have too many long, boring stories of the lil’wrekker and the cats yet to post. (I heard that)

Or even, “You have a state trooper who stopped her recently, she had a mad cat in the car.” Bet that would identify her, or at least narrow it down. Sheesh, I hope it would narrow it down.

I need to get out more. :dubious:

Wow, so an exploding truck saved a life.

Thank you dropzone. Take care of yourself Beck. Glad you’re okay.

Yep. All part of the fundamental interconnectedness of everything.

Dirk Gently explained my life.

Scooby doo explains mine. Rut-ro.

And took one, who attempted to save others.

I am very glad you are safe! Way to go dropzone!

Yes, I was going to mention that, but I decided to err on the side of delicacy.

It makes for an interesting philosophical discussion though.

Indeed.
