Bedding Furniture Hardware: Who Sells?

I am seeking loose hardware for bedding furniture. I need of (6), 4-in long bolts (or, fastener) with a sunken hex (allen) head…and the corresponding locking cams (or dowel nut). I’ve checked the local hardware stores, but what I need is much longer than theri standard stock. Nowadays, the specialty furniture stores seem to have vanished. Does anyone know where to find such specialty hardware? I’ve googled around, but either it is the same old stuff, or lag bots that won’t do.

Here is an image of the hardware I seek.

Amazon?

Home Depots have this little section tucked in among the nuts and bolts, called “Hard-to-Find Hardware.”

Rockler.
This is my go-to place for furniture building hardware.

try your closest IKEA…looks very similar. They will often give you hardware for free, if you don’t need a bunch. Check out the As-Is area of the dtore and ask to speak to the manager of that department. (I worked for IKEA for 11 years, and we always did this, but it HAS been a while…)

Oddly enough, the term you want to search for is “bed bolts”

These are probably exactly what you’re after: http://amazon.com/FURNITURE-BOLT-ALLEN-BARREL-100MM/dp/B0083HLCIQ

So that’s where we got the saying "Sleep tight, don’t let the bed bolts bite. " :stuck_out_tongue:
