Funny, this is precisely the reason my mom had me remove her Bush bumper sticker.
My sister and I tried to tell her that political bumper stickers were a bad idea (because some people are whacked) but she didn’t listen. How that she sees how divisive and angry things have gotten, she understands the wisdom of No Political Bumper Stickers. And actually, one of my friends had his car vandalized during the last election because he dared to have a Bush bumper sticker. So you never can be too careful.
I’m planning on getting a Yosemite National Park bumper sticker for my mom’s car instead.
That’s nothin’. Around the time Clinton got impeached, I saw an old Lincoln Towncar with a Mondale/Ferrarro bumper sticker. That would be, what, 15 years old?
Hardly. Considering that he now has the second highest popular vote count in our nation’s history, IIRC, I wouldn’t say he was a bad choice. The man is intelligent, talented, and a decent human being, from what I’ve seen.
As for “most liberal,”, and “farther left”, I’m not even going to touch that ridiculous statement with a ten foot pole.
That’s the very reason I sadly peeled off my Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker Wed. morning.
So, midget, is there a preferred waiting period that one should observe before peeling off one’s political bumper sticker post-election? Because I didn’t get the memo.
Well here in Silcon Valley there are still plenty of cars with Kerry/Edwards stickers. Though to me they seem like Xmas decorations in February, they are now out of date and should be removed. As should Bush for president stickers as well.
I drive for about an hour doing chores and back every other day. The chores being kid-related, I would see dozens of “Child on Board” yellow signs on a suction cup daily. How many have I seen lately, you might ask? …None. Not a single one. In the thousands of cars I’ve passed in the past month, I haven’t spotted a single “Child on Board” sign.
This has got to be the best evidence that parents don’t really care about their kids anymore.
Just what we needed, another lame thread to gloat about the “landslide mandate”. Give it a rest. Maybe I’ll make up a sticker that says “Don’t blame me, I voted for Cthulhu”.
My mom is a pretty sharp cookie and can figure out things for herself, really.
She was just naive about the bumper sticker thing. Some of you may remember that occasionally I’ll start on a “No Religious-related or Political Bumper Sticker” mantra. I believe this. My dad believed this and always refused to have *any[/i bumper stickers on his car. You never know who is going to become unhinged, on either side, at any moment. It’s a small risk, perhaps, but I don’t need to worry about it, and after seeing my friend get his car vandalized—no thanks. I’m a little more relaxed than my dad—I have travel and joke stickers on my car and that’s pretty much it.
So you posted something that you knew to be untrue, but you did the equivalent of crossing your fingers, so you think it’s all right? Your OP doesn’t make any sense if the “Most liberal” was meant ironically. I just think you’re blowing smoke out your ass.
Really? Could fooled me. It seemed to clearly be one of thos posts.
So quotes make falsehoods completely accurate in your eyes? Or they make falsehoods immune from defense of said statements?
AFAIK, terming Kerry the most liberal senator was 100% false and judged by the standards that were decided upon for the ranking, he was number 11 or something.
