Beer Can E.D. and The Mother Yeast, The MMP

well, yeah. If LOUNE had actually asked for them, it wouldn’t have been any fun to put them there… (sheesh)

Er, what? What? You want me to make a new flavour of ice cream?

Wow, everybody as being so… animated today!

**Queenie **-- why would we want a swamp cooler? We like him hot!

**Haze **-- yay on getting paid.

**LOUNE **and **Rosie **-- and you people were complaining I was being flirty? :dubious: :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m flying out for 12 days in about 16 hours, so for the last time in a while:

Good Morning y’all! Rise and Shine!!!

(takes advantage of all the attention **LOUNE **and **Rosie **are garnering, takes Roo’s hand and slinks off with her… ;))

Happy Birthday to the Vunderwife and to ReboSon!

That was a great OP Swampy! I pictured a humongous, heaving, bubbly looking, whitish gray blob taking a whole room up somewhere when you spoke of the Mother Yeast.

Welcome to the newbies.

The weekend consisted of us doing a bunch of nothing. We putzed here and there, but that’s about it. Oh, we did watch Reno, 911 the movie. It was funny, I guess.

Nothing else too exciting going on here. I’m counting down the days until my vacation begins. Three more work days! Woooo and Hoooo! Two weeks of non work! I can’t wait.

You all sure made a mess in here, sheesh! Pick up that dirt, those pebbles and those tarantulas right now. I said, right now. Don’t give me those looks and quit that mumbling under your breath. If you don’t behave Moomm is going to see all this and then you’ll really be in big trouble. You don’t want to be entered on The List, right? Uh-huh, I thought so.

Work was slightly frustrating today, but I got through it. I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to update and publish a report. It only took me about five tries before I realized that one of the ad hocs from one of our sources was jacked up. Since we don’t “own” the ad hoc, we had to contact someone and it turns out he doesn’t own it either, so he had to contact someone else. Double  . Hopefully, we’ll have it squared away by tomorrow. We rely on this particular ad hoc to refresh and update a couple, three reports that we publish. One, in particular, is pretty large and complicated.

Bleah, that was boring wasn’t it?

I guess I should take care of the laundry that I washed. I lead such a glitzy and glamorous life. I know you wish you could live my life.

OMG! What on earth is going on in here??? I leave for a few hours to get some sleep and come back to pandemonium! Oh well, I suppose it’s good training for when HRH starts wreaking havoc.

Gah!! Two days ago, I watched Pocahontas on TV with Noor (she likes the colours and the music) and since then I have had this STOOPID song stuck in my head, the one that goes, “Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon … Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains? Can you paint with all the colours of the wind?”" etc. etc. It is really starting to annoy me!

Dulce de leche Oreos sound yummy. I might have to try the homemade variety - take a tin of sweetened condensed milk and simmer in a pan of water for four hours. Remove tin from water and allow to cool. Open tin and scoop contents into bowl. Proceed to dunk chocolate cookies of choice into caramel!!! ::drool::

Takes advantage of the focus on the cookies and caramel to sneak into the bedroom and short-sheet LOUNE’s bed! :snerk:

What does this mean? Were the numbers inflated? Are you talking about numbers? If you’re talking about numbers, how do inflated number get through the system?
I’ve had a long day and it’s time to wrap it up, so good night everyone!
Good morning, Special1 and now Dotty too! Everyone else is in normal time, right?

ETA: Dotty, oooh, I love that song. I’ll take it from you. Send it over here. I also like her “Saved the Best for Last” song too.

Count me in as a weird one. I drink beer under protest.

Hi all!

I’m back after almost OD’ing on family. Mom plus SiL (who liked my birthday present, yay, I’m finally starting to figure out what does she like) plus The Oldsters From Hell (who are back in Barcelona as of last Saturday after driving Mom up the walls and above for a month) plus several people I hadn’t seen in ages and who didn’t quite understand the concept of “I need to go to bed early because of the busy agenda” plus unexpected home improvement at Mom’s (I now have a thin bruise about two handspans long on my left thigh from being semi-sat on a sharpish corner, good thing my bruises don’t hurt) and have I mentioned it was the local Fiestas? Our bullruns aren’t particularly spectacular, so nothing to report. July 25 (St James patron of Spain) was a national holiday until this year; the previous rash of Socialist Government hadn’t taken it off the calendar but these did. In my hometown, the patron saints are St Joachim and St Anne, the parents of Our Lady, whose feast is the 26th, but the Real Big Bullfight has been on the 25th for ages, that being the day when most people from Elsewhere could drive in. The organizers for the bullfight are cussin’ Them Socialists upside, downside and sideways.

Nobody died at work while I was off. Now I have to tell my boss that my next doctor appointment is on September 5th (Wednesday), meaning I’m taking that week off. If he doesn’t like it, he should have helped me find a neurologist here 6 months ago when I asked :stuck_out_tongue:

Less than three weeks until my vacation in England. I’m going to visit friends in Nottingham and in a place whose name I can’t remember but it’s close to Manchester. Compared with my previous bouts of going to office buildings in Croydon and factories in Birmingham, this is the Jet Set.

In Spain a brewing barrel is said to “have mother”. Dad used to keep a 25l barrel at home, filled with red wine which had turned into brandy by the time it was half-empty. When he died, Mom called the people from whom we’d bought it to see if they wanted it back; the guy took a taste of the “wine”, got eyes the size of serving plates, emptied it, opened the lid and tasted the yeast directly. “With mother like this, Ma’am, I’m not going to charge you for taking it away… I’m going to pay you!” And he did; he offered money or wine, Mom chose wine (bottled).

::rushes up to hug Nava…:: {{{Nava}}}

Hey, welcome back!

We missed you.

At least I did!

And just in time, too – I’m disappearing for almost two weeks tonight.

Good to see you, glad you enjoyed your vacation

Don’t you lot ever sleep?

I’m pleased to report that it’s still sunny here today, and it didn’t rain at all yesterday so my feet are staying dry!

Having been in such a state over floods, I was yesterday talking to a friend who lives down in Exeter just near where we’re going to a music festival later in August. He was telling me that he went dirt-biking at the weekend and they had to spray the track with water because it was too dusty. How bizarre is that?

On the plus side, it means the place we’ll be camping is probably going to be dry which is a good thing 'cos there’s nothing worse than staggering out of the beer tent and falling over in the mud.

Do not ask why I am awake. I’m actually about to go back to sleep. I hope. I just had to share this picture. I love Botany Photo of the Day.

GT

Tomorrow is a holiday in Switzerland, tomorrow is a holiday in Switzerland, tomorrow…!

Being August 1st I suspect it wouldn’t be a good day to do anything involving roads (I mean, beyond maybe driving to the supermarket), but I may even be able to kick my butt into gear long enough to go watch a movie or buy books or sumthin’ - in France, where it’s not a holiday.

Living on a border has its advantages.

Did I mention tomorrow’s a holiday?

So I’m sitting at home reading my “Good Food” magazine and grumbling because I can’t get to the Good Food Show later this year 'cos I’ll be in Vegas…when I get as far as the small ads in the back.

This site stocks US food over here. Is there anything on there I really shouldn’t be missing out on?

I’m still awake. I have an active thread in IMHO. HappyMuffin is temporarily in the hizz-ouse, until she decides to go to sleep.

And BooFae, I salute you, because as an American I’ve never managed to get to Vegas. I think it would scare me a lot. Unless I got outside the casinos. I can deal with crazies and hookers; it’s Mid-America on vacation that scares me.

Huh? What? looks innocent
scampers off when Moooom finds the mess
Count me in as another anti-beerite. I can’t stand the taste of it. Beer tastes like moose piss.

…oh yes, I’ve had moose piss, dammit!

Had the foresight to throw ice cubes in rosie’s slippers, so there’d be a cold, wet puddle in them when she put her feet in them

I didn’t spill the beer, rosie did! She threw a flaming shoe at me…and…well…your beer was in the way and such.

Blame rosie!
I do.

You’ve found Cousin It.

gt - that is one silly looking cactus

BooFae - try the Cap’n Crunch cereal - but have some insulin ready.
That site has Strawberry Syrup?!?!? I can’t get tht locally, maybe I’ll order from there
You must get some Fluff and your favorite peanut butter (smooth is best for Fluffernutters - and use plain white bread - Wonder Bread is best if you can get it)

Hah! I didn’t wear my slippers last night - I slept with my socks on

what? my feet were cold

…and…well… you shouldn’t have ducked. So it’s totally you’re fault. Besides Moooooom always told you not to play with matches (play along, FCM, k?)

I’ve heard that guilt manifests itself in grammar, Mooooom.

points at rosie’s blatant misuse of “you’re” in the previous post

shoots a rubber band at rosie when nobody’s looking
