Ever notice that the only difference is 0. Nothing. Nada.
This Deep Insight Into The Human Condition™ has been brought to you by Silenus, whose students successfully(?) completed the AP European History test yesterday. He is celebrating this fact by communing with barley and hops. Anybody got anything else we can celebrate on this fine day?
Myself, I just this hour brought a sixer of Bass Pale Ale back from temple.
If I had poor luck with Bass’s mare perhaps this draught of his may serve me more propensely. He was laying his hand upon a winejar: Malachi saw it and withheld his act, pointing to the stranger and to the scarlet label. Warily, Malachi whispered, preserve a druid silence. His soul is far away. It is as painful perhaps to be awakened from a vision as to be born. Any object, intensely regarded, may be a gate of access to the incorruptible eon of the gods. Do you not think it, Stephen? Theosophos told me so.
Beer, it’s not just for breakfast anymore. My favorites:
Schneider Weisse Original (the king of the wheat beers)
Alaskan Amber
Grolsch
Guiness (NOT the American stuff, actual Guiness)
Shiner Bock (you can take the boy out of Texas…)
Check your local upscale liquer shoppe. You could also try Young’s Double Chocolate Stout. Very good stuff, and its so thick it will put hair on your chest.
I’ve only seen one beer here classified as a zwart bier (black beer, as opposed to witbier), but I can’t remember what it was called or who made it. It was good.
The same people that make la Guillotine and Delerium Tremens (Brouwerij Huyghens) make a ‘chocolate witbier’ that tastes, to me, like those little chocolate oranges you find around Xmas.
This is beer heaven. Eat your hearts out. Speaking of. . . I need to go out. . .
Gloating gloating.
I dunno about ABC, but it can’t hurt to check. Here is an article about chocolate beer made by Sam Adams. I had some of this on Valentines day, and it was MOST excellent.
Although I did not get anymore hair on my chest, so that may be better for you!
1554 is a very good beer. And I am lucky enough to get it really fresh and it gets delivered from the brewery to Denver bars very quickly. Same with Fat Tire
The beer I wish I had more access to is Rogue Hazlenut Brown. Now that is a damn fine brew, but the stupid brewry is always back ordered, So I can’t get any.
