Being the last poster of a thread and then it dies

[squints] Ain’t that potheoses? Like analysis, analyses?

It’s Greek to me.

See you at the antipodes!

kudos to you

All right, that’s it. One bump, and then I’m off to bed.

I know this is no way to bump a thread, but: Is kudos plural or singular? And if singular, what would the plural then be? Or the singular, in case it is plural.

Hopefully your bed is not all bumpy.

Kudos is from the Greek κῦδος. It is singular in Greek. In English it is also properly singular, but is a mass noun, like its synonyms “glory” or “fame”, so the need for a plural form is rare. The OED says it is “sometimes interpreted as plural; hence used in form kudo, understood as singular”. In other words, it’s sometimes treated as a singular mass noun and sometimes as a plural. Some would argue that the latter usage is incorrect.

Comfy, not bumpy, thanks.

Tonight’s supper: Liverwurst, pancetta, and Gouda cheese on whole wheat bread, with mustard and uncured bacon jam.

Bacon jam? How is that possible?

If your jam is bacon anything is possible

It’s a sequel to Space Jam, in which Porky Pig has a central role.

Next you’ll tell me about mackerel honey as a prequel to The Dark Menace. I’ll pass.

Pass the Dutchie?

Oh, it’s entirely possible, also delicious. Just to name a few:

Maple Bacon Onion Jam
Midwest Fresh Bacon Jam
Classic Uncured Bacon Jam

I too am in this episode.

X-Mas.

It’s Boxing Day! Put up your dukes!

What’s your hurry?
