Belief-O-Matic

  1. Unitarian Universalism (100%)
  2. Theravada Buddhism (92%)
  3. Liberal Quakers (91%)
  4. Secular Humanism

Hmmm… I guess it was my agreement with extinguishing materialism that got me selected as a Buddhist. From the description of Unitarian Universalism, it seems like ANYONE could fit in. “Some believe in God, some don’t,” etc.

Here is the original thread.

About the same as before:

  1. Secular Humanism (100%)
  2. Unitarian Universalism (100%)
  3. Liberal Quakers (89%) :dubious:
  4. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (85%) :dubious: also
  5. Nontheist (80%)
Yea! I used the new smiley!

Top Three:

  1. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (100%)
  2. Unitarian Universalism (97%)
  3. Liberal Quakers (91%)

Bottom Three:
25. Roman Catholic (19%) (which I am, at least on paper)
26. Seventh Day Adventist (14%)
27. Hinduism (10%)

  1. Neo-Pagan (100%)
  2. Unitarian Universalism (95%)
  3. Mahayana Buddhism (86%)
  4. Liberal Quakers (84%)
  5. Roman Catholic (31%)
  6. Islam (29%)
  7. Jehovah’s Witness (17%)

I included the top 4 because I figured if I wasn’t a pagan I would probably convert to a Quaker or a Buddhist (in that order).

Oh yeah. My last three are, not surprisingly:

  1. Eastern Orthodox (15%)
  2. Roman Catholic (15%)
  3. Jehovah’s Witness (12%)

Top 3:

  1. Unitarian Universalism (100%)
  2. Secular Humanism (98%)
  3. Liberal Quakers (85%)

Bottom 3:
25. Roman Catholic (17%)
26. Seventh Day Adventist (10%)
27. Hinduism (6%)

Hmmm … I wonder why the Belief-O-Matic keeps on insisting that I should belong to the Church of Satan…

You ain’t kiddin’. I just took that test and picked the most “hardline atheist” answer of each and every question. The result?

  1. Unitarian Universalism (100%)
  2. Nontheist (96%)

Bah. This isn’t a quiz, it’s a Unitarian recruitment poster.

Anubis, thanks for the link to the other thread on this subject. Does the search function just look at titles? How did you find that?

That is so stunningly weird! How do you explain it?

Whenever I have to check into a hospital and they ask my religious preference, I borrow from the old Firesign Theater:

The Powerhouse Church of the Presumptuous Assumption of the Blinding Light

Favorite hymn:

“O, Blinding Light. O Light that blinds,
Look out for me – I cannot see.”

I know we did this a long time ago.

Actually, I’m an atheist. That means I regard everything skeptically and wait for physical evidence based on repeatable, intelligent experiments.
