Belief-O-Matic™

I simply must share the Belief-O-Matic™. Mundane? I don’t think so. Pointless? You decide.

Well, it said that I had the most in common with the Unitarian Universalists and Secular Humanism. I guess that’s true. The ones I had the least in common with were the ones that I scoff the most at, so there is something to this quiz.

Said I was a Unitarian Universalist (100%). I am in fact an atheist. I would make a distinction between myself and a Unitarian. But perhaps they did not consider that many atheists would bother with it.

I took this about a week or so ago and apparently I match up 100% with reform Jews. I’m currently a theist and was raised Bapist.

Its’ possible to be an atheist Unitarian, in fact we have at least one on the board who is a Unitarian minister (minister? preacher? head religious guy).

Says Im 100% secular humanist, which is about right.

Yep, no atheists in the Belief-O-Matic. Of course, it’s goal is to match you to the closest “belief” rather than religious state.

So, Unitarian. :dubious:

Liberal Quaker.

Sounds about right. I mean, I’m not, but it’d make sense.

Lumping “Neopagan” together is kind of silly, though. I mean, it’s like making one category for Christianity.

Said I am 100% Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestant. That would be a bingo! I’m an active Episcopalian.

100% Secular Humanist. But I knew that.

100 % Unitarian Universalist, which is strange since I consider myself agnostrc.

It matches me 100% to Bah’ai (at least, I think that’s what it says; my browswer is glitching), but I’m not sure that’s really a good match. Oddly, Roman Catholic is down at #19, at 51%, and Deist isn’t listed at all.

How can one’s beliefs match the UUs, anyway? I didn’t know they had any beliefs.

Of course they do. Principles

100% Neo-pagan. Makes perfect sense. !!!

At the very bottom of my list, coming in at 25%, was Catholicism, the church my mother dragged me to for 18 years. According to that, I’d make a better Jehovah’s Witness (47%) or Mormon (61%), except it didn’t ask about knocking on doors which probably would have lowered my score. It gave me 100% on Unitarian Universalism. Maybe I’ll look into it someday. In the meantime, I call myself agnostic.

100% Orthodox Quaker???
compared to 97% Conservative Protestant?

Must have been because I emphasized social betterment programs, but it had to ignore my high level of opposition to Non-Violence as a spiritual essential (I strongly believe absolute pacifism to be immoral).

Whaddaya know, I’m a Zoroastrian.
“100% secular humanist.” Shocker.

100% liberal Christian Protestant. Sounds about right, in real life I’m a cafeteria Catholic.

My understanding is that agnostism and atheism are not mutually exclusive of Unitarian Universalism. My understanding of Unitarian Universalism is extremely suspect, so don’t factor my opinion into any important life decisions :stuck_out_tongue:

I am 100% Secular Humanist and 99% Unitarian Universalists. I think the test is fairly accurate and in fact educated me about the concept of “Secular Humanist”. It is a far more specific category of my state of mind than just agnostic/atheism.

I scored high on Reform Judaism, Islam, Jehovah’s Witness, Sikhism, and Jainism.

Scored medium on Hinduism, Roman Catholic, Buddhism, and Neo-Pagan.

Scored low on Scientogy, Taoism, and Christian Science.

Apparantly, I’m a little bit of everything! Won’t God (and Allah, apparantly) be surprised to meet me.

How could I score high on religions that seem to be in conflict with each other? Weird.
