Going to be hot today, supposed to get up to 90 here, it’ll probably be a lot hotter in the armpit.
Supposed to rain, and I hate driving 70 in the rain.
Thank you for that beautiful rendition, Swampy!
And thank all y’all for the birthday wishes.
We had quite a bit of rain and thunderboomers last evening, and the basement didn’t leak.
Cupcakes, that might be the basis of an interesting book, if I wasn’t too lazy to write one. However, in this house, I am more afraid of the stairs leading to the basement than I am of anything I might find down there, oozing or not. People who have checked out the stairs have told me there is nothing wrong with them, doesn’t matter, they still make me nervous.
My son was afraid of them at first, but now he thinks nothing of going up and down them. I guess you have to get used to them.
I plan to leave around 10:30 or 11:00 for the pit. Last I heard, we will be having pizza, chinese, and an ice cream cake. However, everything is always subject to change.
Morning all. As tired as I was, I figured I’d sleep in today, so of course I was wide awake at 6:15am…nappage would not surprise me…
Nothing much planned for the day, going to be another warm one (76F now going to 86F) and last night I finally turned on the Air Conditioning. It’ll probably stay on now until October.
Up and caffeinating. I’ll head out to do yesterday’s grocery shopping after KP and a shower. I may even stop for coffee with one of the heathen groups.
Without fail I have been waking around 5AM every morning even though I do go back to sleep. Day 5 of sloth. I am determined I shan’t be a slug today and do some laundry and cooking. Maybe I will even venture out to the grocery store. Hubby is working as usual.
A lazy Sunday. I finally got up around 8:30 because Ursala Kitteh was yowling for fuds. I’m on the second load of laundry, my winter jackets. Yesterday it stormed and today random storms are predicted. I will wander to the barn later. The horses are in on accounta the pastures being under water. Going through old journals. Six years ago today I was in London. England.
We breakfasted at Cracker Barrel, and I thought to ask to sit in Lisa’s section. She used to work at the cafe in Leonardtown that we frequented till their quality slipped. Lisa has been at Cracker Barrel for several years, and we used to get her section by chance. Apparently I should have asked. So now I will. We like Lisa.
Mowage has been accomplished and a few other chores. As soon as **FCD **comes in for lunch, I’ll decide what the afternoon will hold.
Yesterday was a sucktastic day. Today just has to be better.
I thought we were going to drive over to Eastern Orygun to look at a house today, but when I got up, at 8:00, Wifey was gone. She prolly told me where she was going and I forgot. So now I’m at loose ends.
At least I had some breakfast, cream o’ wheat and half-caff. (in separate containers).
First on Four (wanted to say that before the usual suspects…)
Went to Longhorn and had a steak with salad and fries. T’was very good, even if the waitress brought plain iced tea instead of sweet tea (it was corrected). Then stopped at Big Lots for a small purchase (2-liter Pepsi for $0.88) and Petsmart had a tent for a local shelter to show off their dogs, so I had to go look. I’m much too old and set in my ways to give a dog a good home, but skritches for them I have in abundance.
85F outside, I think I stay in and consider nappage.
Having one of those days where I can’t focus on anything. Probably because I couldn’t get to sleep last night, then when I did get to sleep, stayed there til about 11. I’m trying to revise for the exas, but it’s like trying to mop up water with a brick- if anything’s going in, it’s not making any difference, and it’s just getting me frustrated.
I did go to a local mini festival for a bit in the afternoon, but it was very much a sitting and listening to music while drinking in the sun type event, and as I was driving, and not really in a relaxing mood, there wasn’t a lot to do. I was hoping to look for a birthday present for Dad, it being his 70th, and a big party next weekend, but there was nothing in the least suitable. He’s a bit of a nightmare to buy for at the best of times, and when I’m living somewhere pretty rural and really otherwise mentally engaged, it ain’t the best of times for shopping.
Clearly I have no life. I am watching badminton, Indonesia v. England. The ceiling fan in my dining area died. New one has been purchased. Now I have to make arrangements for installation. Last summer the lights started going on randomly. I was convinced it was a poltergeist so I took out the bulbs. This year the fan won’t go on. Oh well, it’s 17 years old. The replacement does not have lights so the poltergeist will need to go elsewhere.
Happy b day to all those i missed …
it’s freezing here since it rained all night the heater came on in May! it’s usually in the hundreds by now … … it’s gonna be one of those off years that it’s not too hot I think because after it gets to a certain point it will rain again,
aunt decided to take old kitty into the vet …she’s gotten so bad this weekend …
Had mc Donalds last night and today im having the usual reaction I get from there …gas and the trots … so not really a great day so far …
heh. My blood sugar was 160 at 8 this am.
I don’t think that Jardiance is all that and a bag o’ chips. :dubious:
What kind of implant are you getting? Hope it doesn’t run on batteries.
Just don’t have it installed by the guy who installed the last one.
For some reason half of our forks have disappeared.
Trying to find out what the pattern was called is trying my patience.
It doesn’t seem to exist on their website. le sigh
Well since it also means an extended drinking season … I guess I can come to accept it!
On unrelated news emptied half the car and added to the bank account so it was a weekend well spent. And we’ll probably blow a bunch of it at Waldameer so …
Moooooom, you done flung a craving for cabbage on me. I made cabbage and keilbasa (yes, with caraway and mustard sauce) for supper.
metal mouse, you travel too much to have a dog. Perhaps one on timeshare?
I got the groceries, but had to stop at three Kroger stores to find the glucose test strips that I use. They’re Kroger brand and considerably less expensive, so they have to come from a Kroger store. It rained this afternoon, so no dog park trip. Once KP is done, it will be chill time.
