Ben and Jerry's ........Beer?

Local gastropub, House of 1000 Beers, is having a beer and donut brunch on the 25th. A flight of Founders beers will be offered along with specially chosen donuts from Oakmont Bakery. Mmmmmm. I actually made major changes to my schedule so that I can attend.

In my mind I put this stuff right beside that novelty soft drink company that sells such product as turkey flavored pop.

Sure, by almost twice you mean only 1.5x. Utah (and CO, and KS, and…) legal is 4.0% by volume (how everybody sane measures it), or 3.2% by weight.

I have had beer ice cream. Tasted nothing like beer, but it was delicious.

It is becoming pretty typical for breweries to paid with non-beer companies. I never worked up the nerve to try Voodoo Bacon Maple beer (also not cheap).

So when they characterize beers they don’t do it by a consistent standard? We always called it “three point two beer” when I lived in The Beehive State.

Beer’s alcohol percentage is usually expressed by volume. The only place I have encountered a difference is in regards to the 3.2 laws. In that case, the 3.2 refers to alcohol by weight, which corresponds to about 4.0 by volume.

What’s the Maple Bacon one like? I’m intrigued but just can’t bring myself to try it.

I have a friend who likes [del]root[/del] beer floats.

I love it. Right after its release I went through six bottles, usually sharing them with curious friends. The amazing thing is how Rogue got the tastes into the beer without using artificial flavorings.

Red Robin offers a beer milkshake.

IMO, the Maple Bacon beer is interesting, but I can’t drink more than a small glass. It’s a little too sweet and the bacon flavor gets old quickly. That said, it’s worth it to buy a bottle and share a taste with a few friends for the experience.
