I don’t eat sweets often, but I recently tried this new “limited batch” ice cream from B & J and it is easily the most delish ice cream I have ever had! EVER!
It is:
Oatmeal Cookie Chunk
Sweet Cream Cinnamon Ice Cream with
Chunks of Oatmeal Cookies & Fudge.
:: drool ::
Well no, I haven’t tried that flavor of Ben & Jerry’s; I’ve had trouble finding a store that carries a wide variety of B&J flavors, in fact! Until this past Saturday, that is! And it was a natural foods co-op!
I will look for that limited edition flavor next weekend (next trip to the co-op); this weekend, I got something called “Chubby Hubby” that a friend had recommended to me, since I like eating pretzels with ice cream. It’s fudge-covered, peanut-butter filled pretzels in a vanilla malt ice cream with fudge & caramel swirls. Talk about decadent! I haven’t eaten more than a few spoonfuls, because I actually felt guilty eating it. It is quite delicious, as are most B&J flavors, even the “busier” ones.
LolaCocaCola, of course this new flavor is diet friendly. The oatmeal has fiber in it which totally negates the fat, sugar, and huge dose of calories. I think there have been studies done which show that chocolate has nutrients in it which are good for people. And the final test is . . .which would you rather eat, brussels sprouts or Ben & Jerry’s Oatmeal Cookie Fudge Ice Cream?:dubious:
I do not like Ben and Jerry’s ice cream :o because it seems that brand has stopped making a certain kind of chocolate chip ice  cream. Vanilla  with these big blocks of  chocolate that they called chocolate chip ;j ice cream. That was the only kind of :smack: chocolate :dubious: chip ice cream i could eat because other brands just have tiny fragments instead of chocolate you can really experience in the mix of chocolate. :wally
Sigh.
They were friends of mine, as well, until they got stuck in my molars one night. Also, I tried Consession Obsession once, but I was severely disillusioned when the nonpareil thingys didn’t have any friggin’ white sprinkle thingys on 'em! Who in hell makes nonpareils without little white sprinkle thingys on 'em? Unless they dissolved, which is understandable to a point, and to a broad point…
[sup]If I pay 3 dollars for a pint of ice cream, it better be up-to-scratch…[/sup]
I have to say One Sweet Whirled is the greatest ice cream ever created. Caramel, chocolate, coffee all in one little pint sized tub of ice cream? That’s my idea of heaven right there.
I was going to buy some last week but they were all sold out of it. All that had was plain old stinky vanilla and chocolate chip ice cream (not that there’s anything wrong with them but they’re nowhere near as good as that Dave Matthews Band inspired delight!).
I got a tub of Half Baked yogurt this afternoon. It’s supposed to be chocolate and vanilla yogurts swirled together with equal amounts of brownie chunks and cookie dough balls. But it turned out to be mostly chocolate yogurt with brownie chunks. I was most disappointed.
But mmmmmm to From Russia With Buzz and Vanilla Heath Bar Crunch. And Festivus. There’s your Best. Ice cream. Ever.
Their plain old just cinnamon ice cream is only seasonal. I haven’t seen it in pints, either. That means that in December, I go to the scoop shop several times and walk home eating an ice cream cone.
Except when I’m rich, then I pay the $4 for a hand-packed pint.
I loved Half Baked, and I got cookie and brownie- maybe you just got a bad batch.
But I was also highly irate with the absence of little white sprinkles on the nonpareils in Concession Obsession. I love nonpareils. I would eat nonpareil ice cream. But those weren’t nonpareils. You know what you call a nonpareil without the little white sprinkles?
Chocolate chips. Yeah, that’s right. So Ben and Jerry had better get their act together.
I’m not sure where the “purplest place on earth” is, but if you’re ever anywhere near Cincinnati you should try Graeter’s chocolate chip ice cream. It has big chunks of chocolate like that.
