MMmmmm... Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream

I am indulging in Super Fudge Chunk and I have to say it rates right up there with Cherry Garcia. What is your favorite flavor or brand of ice cream?

I really try to be good but it just isn’t in my nature!

Rum Raisan. Yum.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is my absolute favorite! There’s another one that I really like too. I think it’s called New York Fudge Brownie, or something like that.

Phish Food and their lowfat Chocolate Fudge Brownie Frozen Yogurt - nummy!

heh! Need you ask… Double Double Chocolate!

We are, each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another

I visited the B&J factory in October. Nothing like prime stuff straight from the source. You may touch me now.

Favorite flavor? Cherry Garcia is a strong contender, though Chubby Hubby is the sentimental favorite.

Heath Bar Crunch!

(During the summer months, our local Safeway carries in addition to their usual line of Safeway Select ice cream flavors: Oakland A’s Triple Play Toffee and a flavor named for the Giants with a name that escapes me – both are outstanding!)

Marge: “You know, Homer, it’s very easy to criticize.”
Homer: “Fun, too!”

It’s been awhile since I bought any Ben & Jerry’s, but I do remember loving Rainforest Crunch. Gotta love those Brazil nuts! =P

mmmmm chunky monkey!

Ben & Jerry’s is an example of a corporate entity that uses its wealth to promote a political agenda. Ben and Jerry are, basically, extreme liberals, and use (a small part of) their money to spread their views.

The ice cream is OK – but far from the best I ever tasted – but their activism, their use of their corporate muscle to advance their views is a thing I find distasteful.

I’ll stick with the Kroger brand, since I have no need for ice cream to transport me to new heights of awareness.

I don’t know why fortune smiles on some and lets the rest go free…

Vanilla!

I don’t really eat B&Js cause of the fat content. It’s the highest fat content of any ice cream there is, I think. Isn’t it 25% per serving? The fat must be why its tasty.

Cherry Garcia, Phish Food and Heath Bar Crunch.

Though Edy’s has a wonderful Mad About Malt; chocolate malt with swirls of chocoate and chocolate covered nuts.

I am a slave to nutrition.

Well, my guess is you use a lot of products and things whose corporate dollars either directly or indirectly go towards things you may or may not agree with.

The difference with B&J is, they tell you about it.

Phish Food, Chunky Monkey, and Pistachio Pistachio (which I’m savoring at this very moment). Those are my three favorites, but it’s all good.

My favorite ice cream is from that gelataria I stopped in on the way to the Spanish Steps in Rome. Wow, I love that place. Or maybe that place across the street from my hostel in Florence…

Good ice cream in America is Portofino. My fave B&J’s is Bovinity Divinity, because of the cows. It’s good ice cream, but the cows make it excellent.

But seriously, for true ice cream bliss, one must go to Italy. Or Paris…there’s happiness to be found on the Ile d’St. Louis.

Lighten up, T-Bone, it’s just ice cream.

The fact is that most corporations routinely donate to political candidates for favorable treatment. And because they’re more interested in favorable treatment than in a particular idealogy, corporations routinely donate to both candidates. So brace yourself T-Bone because undoubtedly the majority of the products you buy are made by corporations that donated to Bill Clinton’s presidential campaigns.

And my choices are Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia, Steve’s Cinnamon Bun, and Haagen-Das Pina Colada or Caramel.

Mmmmm Kyla I have to agree with you on Parisienne ice cream…C’est magnifique!

What happened to B&J’s mint chocolate chip ice cream? sniff That was the real stuff- no stupid chocolate shavings, but real chunks!
Otherwise, I like NY Super Fudge Chunk…but my all-time fave is Haagen Daaz Deep Chocolate Peanut Butter (also no longer made- sigh).
