What about the parody of REM’s It’s the end of the world…?
A wonderful parody of the theme from All in the Family.
I’m not sure what my favorite would be. There are so many good songs.
Best song - See my Vest, followed closely by We Do and Señor Burns. “Words won’t long, but an insulting song, Burns will always carry with him…so I’ll settle my score, on the salsa floor, with this vengeful latin rhythm.”
Worst song - We put the Spring in Springfield. Ugh.
Twelve yards long, two lanes wide,
sixty-five tons of American pride!
Canyonero! Canyonero!
God, I love that song.
Well, it goes real slow with the hammer down
It’s the country-fried truck endorsed by a clown
Canyonero! Canyonero!
Hey Hey!
Hee-hee, I start singing that every time I see an Expedition/Suburban.
*Top of the line in utility sports,
Unexplained fires are a matter for the courts!
Canyonero! Canyonero!
*
I want one.
When I was in highschool when someone turned 18 once one of his friends stood up in assembely and sung Homer’s beer song. He got a standing ovation.
“When I was 17 I drank some very good beer
I drank some very good beer I purchased with a fake ID
MY name was Brian McGee
I stayed up listening to Queen
When I was 17…”
Another best song vote for See My Vest.
*“See my loafers, former gophers
it was that, or skin my shofars” (sp?) *
ROTF!
I think that last word should be “chauffeurs”. There’s not much flesh on a ram’s horn, after all.
Turns out my hunch was correct:
She blinds everybody with her super-high beam.
She a squirrel-squishin’, deer-smackin’ drivin’ machine!
Canyonero! Canyonero!
Hee-hee-hee!!! I agree, this is the best one.
I had such a blank on the spelling of that word…
OR
was I simply implementing the progressive, new ideas laid out in this thread?
I love “See My Vest”, the Canyonero song, and all the songs in “Stop the planet of the apes, I want to get off”. Occasionally me and my mates will launch into a rousing chorus of “Dr Zaius, Dr Zaius” for no readily apparent reason.
Songs I hate? The “Kids/Adults” song, and the song they sing throughout the course of “All Singing, All Dancing” (the musical flashback episode).
I’d agree with “The Stonecutters Theme”…I love the Steve Guttenberg line!
Worst: That “My horse must lose” peice of crap when Bart is a jokcey on “Furious D”.
Drollman! Over 200 posts with a spelling mistake!
Monorail was a good one.
“Were you sent here by the Devil?”
“No good sir, I’m on the level!”
I love the burlesque house song… “It’s the extra arms on Shiva!” I almost did a classic spit-take with that one.
My favorite is The Stonecutter’s Song- something about robbing blindfish of sight and supressing the metric system and electric car strikes a funny chord in me.
Also good was ‘New Orleans’ sung in the musical ‘A streecar named desire’. First time I heard it I didn’t think much of it, then I saw it in reruns and actually realized how funny the lyrics are.
My favorite song is “Baby on Board” by the B Sharps. Nothing funny about it really, I just think it’s cute and well done!
Worst: DEFINITELY the Jockey’s song from the Furious D episode.
