This thread reminds me of a few previous threads where Dopers were asked to offer their commercial crushes. I can’t find that thread. But one of the commercials was for a Yellow Pages or Yellow Book and featured a hottie woman in jeans - maybe walking along a train track or something?
Now it is stuck in my brain - not that there’s anything wrong with that. Anyone remember that ad? Not a “best” or anything - but it is stuck in my head in a half-formed way…
The one in my OP - Johannes Brahms bursts through the wall Kool-aid Man style advertising a fake Raisin Bran ripoff Raisin Brahms, of course it was really a commercial for an Advancement for the Arts campaign.
My other two - A commercial for a language academy that makes fun of a new German Coastguard employee for mistaking “sinking” for the word “thinking.”
The 360 one was basically a so-called Mexican Standoff except with fake weapons (their hands in that “fake gun” shape, specifically) and a host of other things like invisible shotguns and grenades, with people acting they were really hit by a weapon when shot.
The Jeno’s Pizza Roll ad gets my vote also. One of the Sunsweet Prune ads features Ray Bradbury, btw. The Freburg box set I have features a video full of his ads, which are awesome.
Can’t find it on Youtube, but years back there was a European commercial shown on one of those “collections of funny ads” programs where two men are driving in a car.
The driver begins to talk earnestly, saying “I love you,” and goes into a long apology about the state of his relationship, while the passenger looks increasingly uncomfortable and embarrassed.
Eventually they stop the car, he again expresses his love and then you can hear the car phone disconnect. They get out of the car. All along he was calling his girlfriend on the hands-free and the viewer assumed he was talking to his passenger.
